District Announces Administrative Appointments

  

Boise, ID  -- 05/13/14 -- Boise School District is pleased to announce the following administrative appointments, effective the beginning of the 2014-15 school year.

  

Tara Coe, Principal, White Pine Elementary School

Tara Coe has educated students in the Boise School District since 1994.  During that time, she has served as an Elementary School Teacher (Koelsch), Gifted and Talented Education Teacher (Valley View), Secondary Summer School Principal (Frank Church Alternative Summer School) and Assistant Elementary School Principal (Grace Jordan, Whitney, Shadow Hills and Whittier and currently Riverside and Whittier).  


Tara is a caring, compassionate and highly effective educational leader who provides each and every child with the opportunity to succeed academically in the programs offered by the District.  She is dedicated to positive school-community relations and works well with parents/guardians in order to build a culture of educational excellence.  Tara is dedicated to the District's Strategic Plan of preparing students for success in college, career and citizenship.  In addition, she believes the new Idaho Common Core Standards fit well with the District's ongoing efforts to prepare students for success after high school.


Tara has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University,  an Endorsement in Gifted and Talented Education from Boise State University, a Master of Education Degree in Reading from Boise State University and an Education Specialist Degree in Administration from the University of Idaho.


Mrs. Coe will bring a high level of dedication and commitment to academic rigor and educational excellence as she serves as Principal of White Pine Elementary School beginning the start of the 2014-15 school year.

 

 

Melanie Koch, Principal, Hidden Springs Elementary School

Melanie Koch has served Idaho's public school students for 16 years. During that time, she has worked as an Elementary School Teacher in the Boise District (10 years) and as Assistant Principal and Principal in the Meridian District (Principal, Linder Elementary - 3 years, Principal, Willow Creek Elementary - 3 years, Assistant Principal, Eagle High & Mountain View High - 2 years).  


Melanie is a caring and compassionate education leader who believes in building positive and effective relationships with students, staff and parents.  She is committed to establishing a culture of school success by creating strong parent and community involvement.  Melanie is dedicated to academic rigor for each and every student and believes in preparing students to succeed beyond high school, whether it's in college, career or citizenship.  


During her public school career, Melanie has developed Title 1 and English Language Learner programs at the elementary school level and designed an intervention system for struggling learners at the elementary and secondary levels. As Principal in Meridian, Melanie has helped transform a 2 star school into a 4 star school in 3 years, implemented the use of technology as a 21st century tool and implemented a research-based instructional model similar to the Boise Instructional Model - a proven method of lesson delivery.  

 

Melanie has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Northwest Nazarene University, a Master of Education Degree in Leadership from University of Idaho and a Master in Education Degree in Reading Curriculum from Grand Canyon University (Phoenix, AZ).

 

Melanie will serve as Principal at Hidden Spring Elementary School  beginning the start of the 2014-15 school year.

 


Tim Lowe, Principal, Amity Elementary School

Tim Lowe has served as an educator in the Boise School District since 1991. During that time, he has worked as an Elementary School Teacher (Cynthia Mann), Adjunct College Professor (College of Education, Boise State University), Assistant Elementary School Principal (Franklin)  and Elementary School Principal (Hillcrest and currently Grace Jordan).  In addition, Mr. Lowe has served in the Idaho Air National Guard for 21 years.


Mr. Lowe has been actively involved in supporting the District's initiatives, including the Strategic Plan Vision of preparing students for success in college, career and citizenship by providing professional opportunities for school staff and academic rigor for the students he serves.  Mr. Lowe's professionalism, knowledge and skill have earned him respect and admiration among fellow colleagues, parents and students.   He is dedicated to providing high quality educational opportunities for each and every child.


Tim has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University, a Master of Arts Degree in Instructional Performance Technology from Boise State University and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Idaho.              


Mr. Lowe will serve as Principal of Amity Elementary School at the beginning of the 2014-15 school year.    

 

 

Irene Vogel, Principal, Dennis Professional Technical Education Center

Irene Vogel has 16 years experience working in various state leadership capacities serving in the instructional area of professional technical education or vocational education. She has served students as an Adjunct Faculty Member (Boise State University - Center for Horticulture Technology), Statewide Vocational Education Manager (Idaho Department of Correction), Skilled and Technical Sciences Program Manager and SkillsUSA Idaho Executive Director (State of Idaho - Division of Idaho Professional Technical Education).  In addition, she was the Staff Development and Communications Director for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare; Division of Medicaid.  


Irene has extensive statewide leadership experience having advocated and provided for technical assistance for the professional technical education system in Idaho, including activities that support, improve and promote professional technical education initiatives. She has managed and provided guidance for 300 professional technical education programs statewide and is dedicated to seeing that each and every student has an opportunity to succeed in pro-tech programs.  She has collaborated on statewide STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiatives and believes in the Boise District's Vision of graduating students prepared to succeed in college, career and citizenship.


Irene is a dedicated, knowledgeable and passionate education professional who cares about the success of students and staff members. She has coordinated various professional development opportunities for fellow educators and is committed to their success.


Irene has an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Horticulture Technology from Boise State University, a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree from Boise State University, a Master of Education Degree from the University of Idaho and a Doctorate Degree in Education from the University of Idaho.


She will begin her work as Principal of the Dennis Professional Technical Education Center at the start of the 2014-15 school year.

 

 

Kyle Kallmeyer, Assistant Principal, Riverside and Amity Elementary Schools

Kyle Kallmeyer began his career in public school education in 1999. Since that time, he has served successfully as a Secondary School Teacher (East), Elementary and Secondary Intern Principal (Jefferson, Whitney, Cole and Dennis Professional Technical Education Center), Assistant Principal (Dennis Professional Technical Education Center) and Principal (Currently Dennis Professional Technical Education Center).

Mr. Kallmeyer believes strongly that each student should be given every opportunity to succeed and he creates an environment to make that happen.  The Dennis Center has received local, state and national recognition during the time Mr. Kallmeyer has served on the school's administrative team.  He is dedicated to seeing that each student is challenged with rigorous and relevant coursework that prepares them for success in college, career and citizenship.  


Kyle earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education Technology Teacher Education from Brigham Young University and a Master of Educational Administration Degree from the University of Idaho.  


Kyle will serve as Assistant Principal at Riverside and Amity Elementary Schools beginning the start of the 2014-15 school year.



Tim Ellinghouse, Assistant Principal, Timberline High School

Tim Ellinghouse is a 27 year veteran of serving public school students.  In his career he has worked as a Technology Education Teacher (Palm Beach County Schools, Pahokee, Florida and South Junior High School, Boise School District), Assistant Principal (Dennis Professional Technical Education Center, West Junior High School), Principal (Boise Evening School) and Professional Technical Administrator (Dennis Professional Technical Education Center).


Tim is a skilled, knowledgeable education professional who believes each student can and will succeed in school and in life.  He has dedicated himself to the District's Vision of preparing students for success beyond high school - in college, career and in life. 

 

He is an educational leader who establishes a culture of positive school-community relations by working well with students, parents and staff members.  He has experience supervising and planning professional development opportunities for educators and he promotes high academic expectations for all students.

 

Mr. Ellinghouse will serve as Assistant Principal at Timberline High School at the start of the 2014-15 school year.



Kelly Fossceco, Assistant Principal, Riverglen Junior High School

Kelly Fossceco has served Idaho's public school students for 24 years.  During that time she has worked as a Secondary School Teacher and Coach (Glenns Ferry High School, Minico High School and Boise High School), Summer High School Principal (Boise School District), Intern Elementary School Principal (Grace Jordan and Amity), and Assistant Principal (currently Borah High School).  Kelly served as a Head Volleyball Coach for 19 years and Head Softball Coach for 8 years.  In addition, she was the lead person in the Accreditation process last year for Borah High School and helped lead the transition of the Bridge program to Borah High School.


Kelly is a dedicated education professional who is committed to the District's vision of seeing that each and every student has the opportunity to succeed beyond high school, by attending college, seeking a career and becoming a contributing member of society.  


Kelly has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Boise State University and a Master of Education Degree in Administration from the University of Idaho.  


She is a very capable administrator who will provide academic and activities leadership and will round out the administrative team at Riverglen Junior High School School, beginning the 2014-15 school year.



Bll McKitrick, Assistant Principal, Dennis Center Professional Technical Education Center

Bill McKitrick has served Idaho's public school children for 21 years. During that time, he has worked as a Special Education Teacher (Mountain Home School District and Boise School District - Whittier Elementary School and Les Bois Junior High School),  Assistant Principal (Les Bois Junior High School and Borah High School) and Principal (Liberty Elementary School).


Mr. McKitrick is a professional educator who is dedicated to the success of each and every student. He is committed to the District's Strategic Plan Vision of preparing students for success beyond high school, whether its excelling in college studies, career or citizenship.  Bill believes in establishing a positive school culture of open communication with students, parents and staff members.  


Mr. McKitrick earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education from Boise State University, a Master of Arts Degree in Special Education from Boise State University and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Idaho.


Bill will begin work as an Assistant Principal at the Dehryl A. Dennis Professional Technical Education Center at the start of the 2014-15 school year.

 

 

Dennis Konrad, Assistant Principal, Les Bois Junior High School

Dennis Konrad has 22 years of public school teaching and coaching experience in the Boise School District. During that time, he has served as a U.S. History Teacher (Boise High School), Peer Mediation and Conflict Resolution Teacher (Boise High School), Peer Tutoring Teacher (Boise High School)  and Athletic Coach (Boise High School - Assistant Track and Field Coach, Head Track and Field Coach, Head Wrestling Coach and Assistant Football).


Dennis is a skilled education professional who is dedicated to helping students and teachers achieve their fullest potential through the educational process.  He has taken on a number of instructional leadership roles at Boise High School and has served on the Boise High Leadership Team.  He is committed to the District's Vision of educating students for success in college, career and citizenship. He is dedicated to providing students with an rigorous and relevant academic curriculum.  


Mr. Konrad  earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Boise State University, a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Educational Leadership Endorsement from Northwest Nazarene University.  


At the beginning of the 2014-15 school year, Dennis will serve as Assistant Principal at Les Bois Junior High School.



Dan Knight, Assistant Principal, Borah High School

Dan Knight has served students as an educator in Oregon for the last 23 years. During that time, he has worked as a Principal (currently, Albany Options School, Albany, OR), Assistant Principal (South Albany High School, Albany, OR), Event Manager (Woodburn High School, Woodburn, OR), Secondary Social Studies Teacher (Molalla High School, Molalla River, OR) and Elementary Physical Education Teacher (Hayesville Elementary School and Rosedale Elementary  School, Salem-Keizer, OR).  


Mr. Knight is a collaborative, compassionate, energetic, can-do educator who is skilled in working with English Language Learners and a committed team member focused on providing an excellent educational program for each and every student.  He has successfully served on School Improvement and Professional Learning Communities in the schools where he's worked,  helping establish a culture of academic success. 

Mr. Knight has experience serving as a building test coordinator, evaluator of teaching and classified staff members, as well as facilitating professional development opportunities for staff.  


Dan has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Oregon University and a Master of Secondary Education Degree from Western Oregon University.


He will serve as Assistant Principal at Borah High School beginning the start of the 2014-15 school year.

 


Laura Rutherford, Assistant Principal, Borah High School

Laura Rutherford is a ten year veteran of educating public school students.  She has served as a Secondary Social Studies Teacher (Liberty High School - Clark County School District, Nevada and currently Capital High School, Boise), Summer School Secondary Social Studies Teacher (Frank Church High School) and Assistant Summer School Principal (West Junior High School). In addition, she has served as a Cheerleading Coach (Liberty High, Nevada and currently Capital High, Boise). Mrs. Rutherford also serves as Department Chair of the Social Studies Department and a member of the Advanced Education Accreditation Team at Capital High.


Laura is a knowledgeable and dedicated education professional who is committed to the District's Vision of preparing each student to compete successfully in college, career and the worldwide economy.  She establishes a school culture of success by working well with teachers, students, parents and the community.


Laura earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science with a Secondary School Teaching Endorsement from the University of Idaho and a Master of Educational Leadership Degree with an Administrative Endorsement from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.  

 

Mrs. Rutherford will begin serving as Assistant Principal at Borah High School at the start of the 2014-15 school year.

 

 

Jeff Lyle Roberts, Assistant Principal, Boise High School

Jeff Roberts has served students in the Boise School District since 1993.  During his public school career he has worked as a Secondary School Social Studies Teacher (currently Les Bois Junior High School), Secondary Summer School Social Studies Teacher (Boise Summer School), Athletic Director (Les Bois Junior High School), Secondary Summer School Assistant Principal (Junior High Alternative Summer School) and Coach (Les Bois - Football, Basketball, Track).  In addition, Mr. Roberts is currently serving in the U.S. Army and Idaho Army National Guard, was deployed to Iraq and is the recipient of the Bronze Star Award for his military service.  


Jeff is a dedicated, loyal, resourceful education professional with proven abilities in management, teaching and administration of policies and practices that promote a safe learning environment and ensure a culture that encourages continuous improvement for teachers, coaches and students.  He believes in open communication with colleagues, students, parents and the community and is committed to the District's Vision of preparing students for college, career and global citizenship.  


Mr. Roberts has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Science from Northwest Nazarene University, a Master of Arts Degree in Athletic Administration from Idaho State University and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.  


Mr. Roberts will begin work as Assistant Principal at Boise High School at the start of the 2014-15 school year.

 

 

Abram Lines, Assistant Principal, Capital High School

Abram Lines has served as a secondary school teacher (5 years) and assistant high school principal in Texas (2 years).  He currently works as Assistant Principal at Belton High School in the Belton Independent School District, Belton, Texas, where he has a variety of responsibilities, including providing instructional supervision of the school's social studies department, overseeing school security, observing and evaluating classroom teachers, interviewing applicants for teaching and security positions, and serving as his school's AVID Site Administrator - a program to successfully prepare middle performing students for the rigors of college.

 

Mr. Lines also taught secondary school students, designing, implementing and teaching curriculum for at risk 9th grade students, as well as teaching various Advanced Placement courses in social studies. He also coached boys basketball and girls track and field. Abram has experience leading continuous collaborative evaluation of curriculum with students, teachers and school administrators and as a conference presenter on the topic of Technology:  Transforming the Role of the Instructional Leader.

 

Abram is committed to building a safe and respectful learning environment for students and staff.  He is dedicated to preparing students for success as they go on to college, career and citizenship.

 

Abram received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education from Boise State University and a Master Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University.

 

Mr. Lines will begin work as Assistant Principal at Capital High School at the start of the 2014-15 school year.

 

Jolene Lincoln, Assistant Principal, Whittier Elementary School

Jolene Lincoln is a 15 year public school educator having served in a variety of capacities during that time.  She has worked as a English as a Second Language (ESL)  Summer Camp Coordinator (Gonzaga University), ESL Spanish Tutor (College Place, WA), 7th Grade  Science Teacher (Spokane Public Schools), Math and Science ELL Summer Camp Teacher/Coordinator (Boise School District), Elementary ELL Teacher (Koelsch), Technology Coordinator (Boise Language Academy), 7th and 8th Grade ELL Teacher (Fairmont Junior High School/Boise Language Academy), Adjunct Professor (Northwest Nazarene University) and Federal Programs Consulting Teacher (Boise School District).


Jolene is a compassionate, skilled and knowledgeable education professional who is focused on the District's Vision of preparing students for success beyond high school - in college, career and citizenship.  She is dedicated to providing each and every student with opportunties to succeed both in school and in life.  She has experience serving schools with a diverse student population and believes in setting high expectations for each student.


Jolene earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education - Natural Science with a minor in Spanish/ESL from Eastern Washington University, a Master of Education Degree Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages from Gonzaga University and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.


She will begin serve as half-time Assistant Principal at Whittier Elementary and half-time District Federal Programs Consulting Teacher beginning with the 2014-15 school year.
