District Announces Principal Appointment

Brett Forrey - Morley Nelson Elementary School

Mr. Forrey has served students in the Boise School District for 21 years, working as an Elementary School Teacher (Franklin, Koelsch, Mountain View), Elementary Intern Principal (Liberty and White Pine) and Elementary School Principal (Highlands, Shadow Hills and currently Hidden Springs).

Mr. Forrey's administrative philosophy is to provide a collaborative and positive school atmosphere by involving parents and the community so that students can be empowered with a base of knowledge and skills that will assist them in becoming productive citizens who can think, question and reason.  Under Mr. Forrey's leadership students have outperformed Idaho and the District as a whole on the Idaho Standards Achievement Tests. In addition, he believes the new Common Core standards fit well into the District's vision of preparing Boise students to compete successfully in college, career and the global economy.  Mr. Forrey is acknowledged as a fine leader with a focus on academic rigor, achievement, appropriate student behavior and parental involvement.

Brett earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Boise State University, a Master of Educational Administration Degree from the University of Idaho and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Idaho.

Mr. Forrey will serve as Principal of Morley Nelson Elementary School beginning the start of the 2014-15 school year.
