District Announces Administrative Appointments

 

Boise, ID  -- (04/25/2014) --  The Boise School District is pleased to announce the following administrative appointments, effective the start of the 2014-15 school year: 
 

Becca Anderson - Language Arts Supervisor 

Becca Anderson has served Idaho's public school students since 1996. During that time, she has held a variety of teaching and leadership positions, including Assistant Elementary School Principal (Horizon), English Teacher (Borah High, Les Bois Junior High and Nampa High), Newspaper/Journalism Teacher (Nampa High), Cross Country Coach (Nampa High),  Elementary Summer School Site Coordinator (Morley Nelson), Intern Elementary School Principal (Cynthia Mann and Shadow Hills) and Elementary School Principal (currently White Pine).  

 

Mrs. Anderson is a dedicated and knowledgeable public school professional who has a solid record of providing effective educational leadership to staff members on instructional best practices. She believes each and every student can and will learn successfully.  

 

In her school leadership duties, Becca has provided her staff members with valuable and relevant professional development opportunities that help staff members offer the finest academic program possible for each student. Mrs. Anderson is committed to the Common Core standards and believes they fit well with the District's Strategic Plan Vision of every student being prepared to compete successfully in college, career and the worldwide economy.  

 

Becca has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology from College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia; a Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in social studies and English from Boise State University; and a Master of Educational Leadership Degree from Boise State University.  

 

Mrs. Anderson will serve as the Boise District's Language Arts Supervisor beginning the start of the 2014-15 school year.  



Chris Taylor - Social Studies and Science Supervisor 

Chris Taylor has worked as a public school educator in the Boise School District since 1995.  During that time he has served as an Elementary School Teacher (Liberty, Amity, Valley View and St. Nicholas in Rupert, ID), Assistant Elementary School Principal (Shadow Hills), Secondary School Science Teacher (currently South), and Elementary School Principal (Pierce Park). In addition, Mr. Taylor is currently an Adjunct Faculty Member at Boise State University teaching Elementary Science Methods and Classroom Management.  

 

Chris has held a variety of curriculum, academic and professional development leadership roles in the District, including developing and writing new science curriculum for students in grades K-6.  He has received a number of significant awards, including Idaho's Science Teacher of the Year, Boise District's highest certified award - the Red Apple Award and the Inspirational Teacher Award at South Junior High School.  Mr. Taylor has presented at local, regional and national conferences regarding science, math and Common Core standards.  He is a dedicated education professional who is committed to the District's Strategic Plan to prepare each student for post-secondary success, whether it be in college, career or competing in the global economy.  

 

Chris has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University and a Master of Educational Administration Degree from the University of Idaho.  


Mr. Taylor will begin his work as the Boise District's Social Studies and Science Supervisor at the start of the 2014-15 school year.
