What's Happening in Boise School District    

 

Tuesday, October 1Fairmont Junior High School will receive a grant from Walmart Neighborhood Market, 3233 N. Cole Rd., Boise,  as part of the store's grand opening celebration beginning at 7:30 a.m.  Fairmont Principal Brian Walker submitted a request for the grant  to support the school's Character Education program, which encourages students to treat each other with respect, prevent bullying and live healthy, happy respectful lives. Proceeds from the grant will also be used to encourage students to prepare for college, career and citizenship.  
 
Thursday, October 3 & Friday, October 4:  State In-service Days - no school for students in Boise School District.

Boise High Students Named National Scholars: The following Boise High students were selected as National Hispanic Scholars from the College Board's National Hispanic Recognition Program based on their PSAT/NMSQT scores and having a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Boise High Student Named Semifinalist in National Achievement Scholarship Program:  Boise High School Senior April Francis 
is the only student from Idaho designated as a Semifinalist in the 50th annual National Achievement Scholarship Program.  She  now has the opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 800 Achievement Scholarship awards worth about $2.5 million that will be offered next spring.  Read more.  



Boise High Staff Members Honored:  Kim Brydges, Head Girls' Basketball Coach,  is being honored as the Distinguished Coach of the Year by District III of the Idaho High School Activities Association, and Tracy Leinen, Athletic Director, is being honored as the Distinguished Athletic Director of the Year.
