Meet the Teacher Day
Tuesday, September 2nd
At the beginning of orientation week, faculty and staff covered the campus and school family in prayer during our annual prayer walk.
Before heading back to school to continue preparing for 2014-2015, faculty and staff had an early morning time of fellowship and worship at the beach.

Greetings MCS Families!

Can you feel the excitement of the new school year? The hallways and classrooms of MCS are filled with joyful anticipation as we prepare to welcome students next week.  The empty desks are being covered in prayer and the teachers' hearts are stirring as they ready their classrooms for a new group of students.  The faculty and staff have been busy this week with meetings, worship, training, and fellowship, and we are eager to welcome students next week!

As the new Vice Principal of Mariners Christian School, I feel the excitement and am looking forward to meeting you and your children as we kick off the 2014-15 school year.  I have the privilege of working with students in grades TK-8 and cannot wait to experience the awesome year ahead with you at MCS.

Enjoy your holiday weekend, and we'll see you at Meet the Teacher Day on Tuesday!

Blessings,

Megan Shahabi
Vice Principal

First Day of School
Wednesday, September 3rd

Arrival:  Parents may either park and walk through the gates or drop their children off through carpool

Parking: Parking is available in the MCS parking lot, on Fischer Avenue, and on Airway Avenue.  Please do not park in neighboring lots.

Carpool:  Morning carpool drop off will be available the first day of school.  Enclosed is the carpool diagram and an overview with school hours. Please do not drop students off in the front parking lot or at the front entrance. For the first few days of school, we will have more cars than usual so please be patient as we work out the glitches. Please do not form multiple lines in the street or block entrances to other businesses driveways.  Most importantly, follow the directions of our wonderful carpool staff.

Fellowship on the Playground:  On the first day of school, we invite you to be with your children outside and wave goodbye to them as they line up and walk in the building with their new teacher and classmates.  We request your understanding as we ask that parents do not walk into the building with their children during the first few days of school.  Please say your good-byes outside when the children line up.  We know that this procedure is often more difficult for the parents than for the children but we believe it conveys to your child that you are confident that they will have a good day because you have placed them in good hands.  Your "vote of confidence" means so much in helping your child adjust to a new situation.  We encourage picture taking....this is a very special day!

After School Program (ASP) & KCare:  Morning and afternoon ASP and KCare is available on the first day of school. Please stop by the ASP room on Meet the Teacher Day to sign up or contact our ASP Director Mrs. Angie Nakamoto at [email protected] or at ext. 153.

MCS Lunch Program

Choicelunch is available the first day of school. Online orders must be received by 9:00am one day in advance.  If a lunch is forgotten, or you are delivering lunch for your child, you may deliver it to the front lobby lunch cart next to the receptionist's desk.

To order lunch, visit www.choicelunch.com and enter our school registration code:  mariners.
