"Building a firm foundation through Christ-centered education."

"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.  Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth."

From the Principal's Office
Something New in 6th Grade

We have had many requests over the years from parents to include an Organizational/Study Skills class for our middle school students. We offered this as an elective for the first time last year and found it to be of great benefit to our students. It is still available as an elective for 7th and 8th grade students, and we have all 6th grade students taking this as part of their regular instruction. This class, along with Computers and Intro to World Languages, makes up the "wheel" that students have always taken in 6th grade. The Intro to World Languages is the first step to adding back language in the 6th grade year since students did not take Spanish last year. This allows us to create a bridge to Spanish in 7th grade and keeps the possibility open of offering additional languages in the future.

The other new part to the "wheel" is a once a week class called Project Based Learning. This is an opportunity for us to develop some projects that require interdisciplinary thinking, collaboration, and problem solving in line with the much more rigorous demand of the Common Core standards. It will begin this Friday along with all electives.

Please Note:  We will be calling all students in this week who need to make elective choices.
