KTA is heading to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park (GSMNP), from June 30-July 6. GSMNP has hundreds of miles of hiking trails, including a large portion of the Appalachian Trail. You will sample many of the best known places in the Smokies, including Clingmans Dome, the highest spot on the A.T. Learn more.

ACTION ALERT: OLD LOGGERS PATH

In February, the Keystone Trails Association joined with eight other organizations and sent a letter to the Chair of the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee. Please call the Governor's office, your State Senator and State Representative and ask for public hearings concerning the Old Loggers Path and the Loyalsock Forest.

KTA is currently seeking submissions for our Spring Photo Contest! Please e-mail your favorite springtime photo of a Pennsylvania hiking trail to ktaadmin@verizon.net by 8 AM on March 15, 2013. The winning photograph will be highlighted in KTA's April 1, 2013 newsletter, on Facebook, and on KTA's website. In addition, the winner will recieve a complimentary one-year membership to KTA! KEEPING OUR TRAILS ALIVE
 The Commonwealth's hiking trails provide a year-round opportunity for low- and no-cost outdoor recreation to hikers, birders, outdoor photographers, and other recreationists. However, in order for Pennsylvania's trails to remain free to the public, those who use them must continue to give back to the organizations committed to maintaining them. Read more.

100-MILE PROFILE: TRISH ZAWISTOWSKI

A t the age of 44, she has decided to take KTA's 100-Mile Trail Challenge to encourage herself to seek out more hiking, backpacking, and camping opportunities in the coming year. Read more.
