Pocono Environmental Education Center
|
As one of the most recognized and respected residential environmental centers in the northeastern U.S., PEEC serves as the perfect location for learning, exploring, and connecting with the outdoors. Their proximity to 200,000 acres of public lands offers a world of opportunities for KTA during our Spring Hiking Weekend. They are located on the Pocono Plateau in northeastern PA, situated within the boundaries of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreational Area and adjacent to numerous state parks, forests, and game lands. The campus itself includes twelve miles of hiking trails, several picnic areas, two campfire rings, and a large outdoor pavilion. Learn more. |

Hiking with the Pocono Outdoor Club
|
The Pocono Outdoor Club (POC) has teamed up with KTA to offer a wide range of interesting and engaging hikes and other outdoor activities for our Spring Hiking Weekend participants. The POC is a member organization of KTA. Since 1989, they have been advocates for area trails; protecting existing trails from increasing encroachments, and working with local agencies and land managers to promote more trails for more users. For more information about the POC, click here. |
Pocono Environmental Education Center's 38-acre campus offers several accommodation options, including group lodges (starting at $150 per person), yurts (starting at $130 per person), and cabins (starting at $200 per person). Prices include two night's lodging, five meals, and the weekend registration fee (you can join as many guided hikes as you'd like!).
.
While double occupancy rooms are available in the cabins, we recommend KTA's adventurous members take advantage of the PEEC's unique yurt village, and that singles reserve space in the group lodges. Tenting options (starting at $92 per person, including meals, or $44 without meals) are also available! For a closer look at PEEC's facilities, click here! |
The weekend package includes five meals: breakfast and bagged lunches on Saturday and Sunday, and a Saturday-evening buffet, served in PEEC's beautiful, sustainably-designed dining hall.
