SNEAK "PEEC": KTA SPRING HIKING WEEKEND
 
KTA will be hosting its Spring Meeting and Hiking Weekend at the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) in Dingman's Ferry, Pike County, PA, this April.   Local hikes will be guided by the Pocono Outdoor Club.  Lodging options include cozy cabins, yurts, tenting, and lodges.  Full details will be posted online, and included in The Keystone Hiker on February 1... stay tuned!

Winter creates a whole new set of challenges, so never overestimate your ability even on familiar hikes. Take the appropriate precautions by following these tips, and you won't have to miss out!

KTA Spring Meeting & Hiking Weekend: April 26-28, 2013, Pocono Environmental Education Center, Dingman's Ferry, Pike County, PA.  Registration starts February 1, 2013.  
 
10th Annual Prowl the Sproul Camping and Hiking Weekend:  July 19-21, 2013, Western Clinton Sportsmen's Association, Renovo, Clinton County, PA.  Registration starts May 1, 2013. 
 
5th Annual Susquehanna Super Hike & Ultra Trail Run:  September 7, 2013, Lancaster/York Counties, PA.  Registration starts February 1, 2013.

SUPER HIKE REGISTRATION OPENS FEBRUARY 1ST

 

KTA's 5th Annual Susquehanna Super Hike and Ultra Trail Run will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013, in Lancaster/ York counties, PA.  Registration (for both volunteers and participants) will open on February 1, and will again be capped this year at 500 participants and 100 volunteers.  We had to turn away over 75 people last year, so please register early if you plan to join us on September 7!

The Appalachian Mountain Club has launched this website, which highlights some of the special places in Pennsylvania which should be protected from drilling, including Rock Run and the Old Loggers Path.
