AFTERMATH OF SUPER-STORM SANDY

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources reports that the majority of Pennsylvania's state parks and state forests were spared the severe damage associated with the historic coastal storm that struck Oct. 29-30.
Most damage addressed by DCNR was confined to the eastern section of the state, Region 4, where outages crimped telephone, internet and other operations in at least ten state parks. Read more.

CORRECTION: MID-STATE TRAIL END-TO-END

In October, KTA reported that the Mid-State Trail Association now recognizes hikers who have walked the entire trail from Maryland to New York.  The date of completion must be AFTER June 1st, 2008.  Applications are available on their website.  Our apologies for the mixup!
