| A Message from Pat Kilts - Join Us at the May 8 Trade Show!
Hi Everyone! It is my pleasure this month to encourage you to attend the 21stGBAR Trade Show (Agent's Day), whose theme is "IT'S A JUNGLE OUT THERE." This is an all day event with just REALTORSŪ in mind. This year's day is scheduled on May 8, 2013 at Binghamton's Riverwalk Hotel and Conference Center, on Water Street from 9am-5pm.
Tickets cost GBAR Members $30, or Non Members $37. Purchased tickets by April 15th are eligible for a $100 Early Bird drawing. The day features a 3 Hr. CE Credit Course presented by well known speaker, Walter Sanford, entitled "FINDING YOUR WAY OUT OF THE JUNGLE". Other exciting plans include a great lunch, prizes, exhibitors, a Cocktail Party, and just having a fun day networking with your fellow REALTORSŪ.
Dawn Roessing, Chair of Trade Show Committee and its members have promised an outstanding event and great time for all. Let's support our TS committees' effort on our behalf by attending. I am anxious to greet you all - please come and join me for a special time together!

Community Service Benefit Luncheon for the Porcari Family Raises Nearly $10,000!
On Wednesday, March 20, the GBAR Community Service Committee, led by Chair Sandi Stebelton, staged a benefit luncheon at the Texas Roadhouse to raise money in support of the family of fallen Owego firefighter Matt Porcari, who passed away in the line of duty on January 21, 2013.
The benefit was attended by over 250 GBAR Members and members of the public in support of the family Matt left behind.
NEWS FLASH!!: At the GBAR Monthly Business Breakfast held April 10, Sandi and her Committee announced that at total of $9,716 was raised for the Porcari Family.
Congratulations to Sandi and her Community Service Committee, who once again demonstrated that our GBAR Tagline, "Believing in Our Community", is not just words, but is in fact the principle which consistently guides the actions of our Association and its Members.
Our sincere thanks as well to the Texas Roadhouse, not only for providing the venue for the benefit, but for making substantial financial contributions to the fundraising effort.

| GBAR Counsel Jon Sarra Named to Broome County Ethics Board
Jon J. Sarra, GBAR General Counsel and a partner in the law firm of Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP, was confirmed by the Broome County Legislature for his appointment to the Broome County Board of Ethics.
The board consists of three members, appointed by the county executive, Debbie Preston, for a term of three years.
Responsibilities of the board include, but are not limited to, the inspection of financial disclosure statements filed by county employees as required by the Code of Ethics, receiving and reviewing alleged violations of the Code of Ethics, and recommending changes to the laws governing elected officials, officers, and employees of the county.
Please join us in congratulating Jon on this significant appointment.

| NAR Code of Ethics Celebrates Centennial
2013 marks the 100th Anniversary of the REALTOR Code of Ethics, the document which guides the ethical duty of all REALTORS toward their clients and customers, the public and their fellow REALTORS.
At GBAR, we'll be commemorating the Centennial in a number of ways, including a full page ad the Press & Sun-Bulletin Home Marketplace Section, the purchase of commemorative posters for all our Broker Members, as well as periodic historical tid-bits in the REALTOR Review.
