COUNCIL WIDE NEWS

Kaley Eakin has joined GSEWNI as MVP Coordinator for Membership in the Tri-Cities area including Benton, Adams, Walla Walla, Franklin, Columbia and Whitman Counties. Kaley is a University of Washington graduate, where she majored in communications and minored in human rights. Currently, she resides in Richland, where she is obtaining her Master's degree online through Washington State University. She has been working with children for the past seven years and has always been passionate about community outreach, integral learning and hands-on programs that bolster the character and courage of our youth. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors through various activities such as riding horses, boating, camping, swimming and playing fetch with her two dogs. She has a thirst for adventure and checked off bungee jumping on her bucket list last month.

Courtney Grant has joined GSEWNI for the summer as an intern for the Tri-Cities council area, to support day camps and other program activities. As a Girl Scout, Courtney earned her Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards, participated in camps, volunteered as a Program Aide, presented the Colors at numerous events, and sold thousands of cookies. When Courtney was 15, she joined Explorers, a branch of Boy Scouts that specializes in teaching teenagers different careers. During her time with the Explorers, she also advanced through the ranks and attained the position of Captain, the highest rank appointed to Explorers. Her goal during her time with Explorers was to produce a handbook of policies and regulations for the Post, which two years later is now being used by the Post. Courtney is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, with a minor in Journalism at Eastern Washington University. We are excited to utilize Courtney's experience as a Girl Scout and Explorer to support and further grow our programs this summer.
