The Cookie Program is a great way for Girl Scouts to learn about the 5 Skills for Girls. We are so excited to once again offer the Super Six cookie varieties-Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Savannah Smiles and Do-si-dos.

HER DAY-Defy the Ordinary-Uniquely ME!

at the Lutheran Church in Yakima

 

At the annual HER Day (Healthy, Energetic, Resourceful) event girls learn to make great choices by attending workshops centered around building self-esteem and creating a completely healthy YOU!

 

The fun and pamper day is for girls who are in grades K-12 and offers sessions unique to each age
group. You can change the way you look or you can change the way the world looks at girls. The self-esteem workshops include good nutrition, style and fitness, friendships and family, relationship building and
much more. 

   

9:30-4:30pm at Central Lutheran Church. $20 per girl.

Summer days are meant for carefree adventures, lake time, hanging out with old friends and making new friends. Camp Four Echoes sessions are for all girls entering grades 1-12, begin June 25 and run through August 7, 2014. There are more than 32 sessions to choose from, ranging in length from 4-15 days. Each session is geared toward a specific age and interest level. Prices range from $165 (four days) to $550 (15 days). You don't have to be a Girl Scout to attend Camp Four Echoes−you just have to be a girl! Invite your friends and you each receive a discount*. 

 

Fun and creative themed weeks include Mad Science, Night Owls, Just Chill, Art to Wear, Jump in the Lake, Imaginarium, Dip-Dip & Swing, Everything H2O, Spotlights On, Teen J.A.M., Nocturnals and much more. There are special sessions for girls interested in more advanced skills such as sailing, paddle boarding, windsurfing, canoeing and more.

Register for Women's Weekend 2014!
Imagine that it's really warm, you're at Lake Coeur d'Alene, relaxing and being pampered for an entire weekend. That's exactly what Women's Weekend is all about! Women's Weekend 2014 is September 5-7, the weekend after Labor Day. The cost is $225 per person.

 

The weekend includes all your accommodations, catered meals and many activities (some activities such as massage have an added fee). This annual fundraising event is held at Camp Four Echoes at Lake Coeur d'Alene and is for women only! Funds raised from the weekend benefit girl camperships, scholarships and programming. Community Leadership Events

Spokane Community Leadership luncheon, whose premier sponsor is Numerica Credit Union, will be on Wednesday, April 16 at the Spokane Convention Center. We are very excited to welcome the CEO of Girl Scouts USA Anna Maria Chavez as our key note speaker. She will share the message of the Girl Scout Movement with business and community leaders, strongly encouraging them to support this important effort. This is our largest fundraising event in our council, guests understand that their RSVP and attendance is a commitment to make a minimum suggested donation of $100 to support the Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. Stepping Out and Camping Out Trainings provides the Advisor/Group Leader or Outdoor Trained Person with the necessary information to take a troop/group out and away from the meeting place for an overnight or camping at an established camp site. Girls 16 and over may take this training. Two trainings are currently scheduled

COUNCIL WIDE NEWS

New Employees Join the Council

 

New Marketing and Media Manager

We would like to introduce you to Julie Gardner, our new Marketing and Media Manager for Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. Julie will be managing all elements of marketing, communications, public relations, social media and media relations for the council.

 

Julie was previously with the Eastern Washington University-Idaho Child Welfare Research and Training Center where she worked on programs and campaigns to recruit
foster and adoptive families. While Julie has an extensive background managing and implementing communications, marketing, recruitment and media activities, her passion is working with children
and families. As a Girl Scout Mom, Julie has been involved in her step-daughter's South Hill troop
for the last two years. Julie's biggest success has been surviving her first Girl Scout over nighter at
the council's hostel where her step-daughter presented her with the 'awesome girl scout mom'
badge afterwards.

Exciting Changes in the Program Center

Lacey Bolin is joining us in the program center at the council office as our Membership, Volunteer and Program Coordinator. Lacey has recently graduated from Eastern Washington University with her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. She will be developing enriching and fun programs for our girls. In addition to creating program, Lacey will be taking over our Precious Metals awards for the council.  

 

Lacey has had prior experience working for the council as a Unit Counselor at Camp Four Echoes in 2008. For the past several years, Lacey has worked at a local non-profit as a caretaker of young children in crisis situations. In addition, Lacey has been a substitute teacher in many local school districts, and still substitutes in District 81 schools. We are very excited to have Lacey's enthusiasm and fun-loving attitude added to the GSEWNI Council.
