Kid's Night Out/First Night, Spokane

December 31, 2013 2-6 p.m.

Kid's Night Out, an annual New Year's Eve event in downtown Spokane, is seeking Girl Scout volunteers (older than 4th grade) to help younger children with craft projects at Kid's Night Out at the Convention Center in Downtown Spokane. Helpers earn a free admission button to First Night Spokane if they help for a minimum of four hours.

The theme this year is "Celebrate the Cosmos" sponsored by Sacred Heart Children's Hospital! With fringe activities galore, Sacred Heart Children's Hospital Kids Night Out is simply extraterrestrial. Contact Peggy McDonald if you would like to volunteer at pmcdonald@gsewni.org or 1-800-827-9478, ext. 230.

JUST FOR ADULTS

It's Great to be a Girl Scout Alum!

When women gather, we look for things we have in common. Girl Scouting is a great common denominator. Did you know that more than 50 percent of women were Girl Scouts in their youth? The impact of Girl Scouting stays with girls and women for decades with positive results.

According to the Girl Scout Research Institute, women who were Girl Scouts in their youth display positive life outcomes to a greater degree than women who were not Girl Scouts. Register as a Girl Scout alum today! It only takes a few minutes and it reinforces that our council has a strong base of women who connect with Girl Scouting throughout their lives.
