Regulatory changes and challenges are reshaping the transaction banking industry.  In the latest FImetrix whitepaper - The Post Regulatory Landscape: A New Normal? - Chris Skinner discusses possible approaches banks may take, and the concept of "A New Normal."

Even with the ever-increasing challenges now facing the market, there are banks rising to the occasion and performing above the market average on customer satisfaction.  FImetrix has recently announced the designees for its second annual "Distinguished Provider" accolade.  The recipient banks are detailed below.

Also in this issue, you can find FImetrix's recent global perspective on the use of the Renminbi, as well as a presentation on the International Commodity Traders Market

We hope you find the information in this edition interesting and informative.  As always, we welcome your thoughts and questions.  If there is anything in this newsletter that you would like to discuss further, please feel free to contact us.

Kind Regards,
Your FImetrix Team

The Post-Regulatory Landscape: A New Normal?

NewNormalThe past five years have seen a regulatory wave of change hit the banking industry that has been greater and harder to manage than anything that has gone before. It has created uncertainties of change, and therefore a challenge for change management. When will the regulatory restructuring of the industry end and, when it does, what will the industry look like?

Chris Skinner explores this theme in the third of a series of white papers for FImetrix and comes to an uncomfortable conclusion for some.  Download your complimentary copy here.

From FImetrix Research:
"Seven out of ten commodity traders believe the regulatory changes will have an effect on their business, with 1 in 4 believing this will be a major effect - primarily because fewer banks will be supporting that business line due to reshaping their business model." You can download the presentation slides here.

Current and Upcoming Projects

What's Going On Now:

FImetrix is currently in the field in the Asia/Pacific Rim region regarding bank-to-bank services (USD, EUR, GBP), and is also wrapping up a global review of the competitive position of Australian and New Zealand Dollar providers.  Results for both of these studies are expected to be available in the summer.

What to Look For:

FImetrix is gearing up to enter the field in Western Europe and North America for its study on Euro and Pound Sterling services this month, and anticipates being in the field in Latin America this fall.  FImetrix will also be conducting its annual Sibos Post-Conference Follow-up study directly after the meeting in Boston.  This study measures the effectiveness of a bank's marketing campaign at the event.
