Dan Berthiaume Receives Latin Teacher of the Year Award
Dear Families,
I am pleased to announce that Mr. Dan Berthiaume, Latin teacher at Saint Agnes, won this year's Classical Association of Minnesota's "Latin Teacher of the Year" award. I included the following in an email to the Classical Association of Minnesota that was read at the award ceremony:
"Thank you to the Classical Association of Minnesota for bestowing this important teaching award each year; we are very honored to be a part of carrying on the classical tradition at our school and we greatly appreciate the efforts and support of CAM. I am new to Saint Agnes School, having started on July 1, but I have already heard many great things, or should I say multas magnas res, about Mr. Berthiaume -- great things about his teaching and his coaching. Not only is he well respected in his various roles, but he is also an alumnus of Saint Agnes offering a unique and important example of Aggie pride to our students. One of my goals as the new Headmaster of Saint Agnes School is to protect classroom instruction time, and I was impressed to see that Dan had perfect attendance last year; this is no small feat for he teaches 5 periods of Latin each day to eager junior high and high school students. To conclude, I wish to congratulate Dan on this great achievement - it is well deserved! Optime!"
Please join me in congratulating Mr. Berthiaume. Award-winning teaching is the most important thing any school ever does.
Blessings to your family,

Learn More about Hosting an Exchange Student
KoAm's exchange students are selected based on their English capability, personality, sense of purpose, academic standing, and their parents' support. KoAm students have studied English for years and are conversant before their arrival. Once KoAm finds a student for your family, you will be able to communicate and get to know each other through emails and phone calls to ensure you feel comfortable with each other. By the time you and your student meet face-to-face, you and your family will have already started getting to know your student.
Jaehyun is a 5th grade boy who would like to start school at 5th grade for the remainder of the 2015-16 school year. He is practical, logical, and has a quiet energy. Someday, he would like to be a chef and his favorite subject is science. He loves reading and is involved in Scouts in Korea. His favorite foods include chicken, pasta, and noodles. He is excited to experience new activities and American culture.
