Methods Behind a New Study on Chronic Kidney Disease

The CKD Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study
Dr. Laura Mariani
(CKDopps) is a new international prospective cohort study designed to describe and evaluate variation in nephrologist-led chronic kidney disease (CKD) practices. In a paper published in the American Journal of Kidney Disease, the study team discussed the ways in which CKDopps is working to collect and analyze reliable evidence regarding the effects of CKD care on outcomes.

Long-term Outcomes in the Adult to Adult Living Donor Liver Transplantation Cohort Study

Previous studies of living liver donors' psychological and social outcomes have focused on short-term outcomes and rely largely on measures not specific to donation. In a recent paper published in a special issue on living donation in Transplantation, researchers examined long-term psychosocial outcomes of living donors, focusing on a more specific assessment of donors' potential problems. This paper received national attention in an article published by Reuters.
