NephCure Kidney Network pledges to facilitate patients' access to their data
Dr. Elizabeth Cope
The NephCure Kidney Network (NKN), a project of Arbor Research Collaborative for Health, in partnership with NephCure Kidney International, is one of 20 Patient-Powered Research Networks (PPRNs) pledging to help patients access their electronic health records (EHR) data.

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) announced the pledge at the Precision Medicine Initiative Summit at the White House on February 25, 2016.

Principal Investigator Dr. Elizabeth Cope noted, "EHRs are revolutionizing healthcare, but with this increased flow of information comes immense responsibility. PPRNs have an important role to play by educating and engaging patients as responsible stewards of their own data and empowering them to become advocates for their own care."
