New Data from the DOPPS Practice Monitor 

The Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (DOPPS) hosted a public web conference to review the latest data available from the DOPPS Practice Monitor (DPM) on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. Highlights of this web conference included trends in mineral and bone disorder and a review of data related to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) star rating system.

Research from A2ALL Shows Benefits of Living Donor Liver Transplant

Living donor liver transplantation has emerged as an important source of organs when there is a critical scarcity of livers from deceased donors. A new study from the Adult-to-Adult Living Donor Liver Transplantation Cohort Study (A2ALL) compares the long-term survival of living donor liver transplant (LDLT) at experienced transplant centers to outcomes of deceased donor liver transplant (DDLT).
 
Understanding the Recent Increase in Ferritin Levels in Dialysis Patients

Anemia management is an essential element of care for hemodialysis patients. Following two major policy changes in the United States in 2011, there has been a dramatic rise in average ferritin levels, sustained into 2013. The DOPPS examines this sustained rise in a paper published in the latest issue of the Clinical Journal of The American Society of Nephrology.
