New Data from the DOPPS Practice Monitor

Emerging trends in hemodialysis care through December 2012, based on a sample of US dialysis facilities, are included in the latest update to the DOPPS Practice Monitor (DPM, at DOPPS.org/DPM), run by the Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (DOPPS). To read a summary of the data trends, please click here.

The DOPPS hosted a Web conference to discuss the latest data available from the DPM on Thursday, May 2, 2013. Mark Neumann, executive editor of Nephrology News & Issues, moderated the discussion. To listen to a recording of this conference, please click here

The The A2ALL Study recently published new findings in the journal Liver Transplantation. The study team quantified the rates of liver regeneration and recovery in living liver donors six months after the removal of the right lobe of the liver for transplantation. A new publication from the Chronic Kidney Disease Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (CKDopps) in the journal Clinical Nephrology shows the first results of a German national electronic registry of nephrology clinic data for chronic kidney disease (CKD). A large network of German nephrologists studied German CKD patients to develop an evidence base about the course of CKD. Data collected will be used to study CKD treatment variation and the most effective practices under routine care for the treatment of advanced CKD. Registry data will serve as a resource for future observation of CKD patients in Germany.
