Cold Tea Brews a Boost for the Brain
By Grace O
When it's hot out, a cup of iced tea is very refreshing, and the benefits far outweigh so many other drinks on the market. The theaflavins in both green and black teas help improve blood flow, keeping your skin fresh and your brain young. Because tea is so beneficial, I've developed many recipes with it for my cookbook. One of my simplest tea recipes is Pomegranate Iced Tea. I simply blend pomegranate juice with brewed black tea that has been chilled. Catechins found in black tea inhibit the growth of cancer cells, stimulate metabolism, act as an anti-inflammatory, and can help lower cholesterol.

Can't Lose That Ugly Belly Fat? Put Your Ears To Work
By Dr. Mark Rosenberg
I recently attended an integrative medicine conference. For those of you who don't know what integrative medicine is, it's "integrating" traditional medicine with alternative medicine practices to get the best of both worlds as treatment for your patients. Apple Barley Salad
By Grace O
Barley is a great source of fiber, B vitamins, and selenium. I serve it with apples in this bright, crunchy salad. For the corn kernels, I prefer fresh-roasted corn, but you can use thawed frozen corn kernels, too. The apples can be any variety or color that you like, or even a combination. All apples contain quercetin, a compound that helps support the immune system, thereby "keeping the doctor away." Raisins provide antioxidants and resveratrol, the same compound found in red wine. My Honey-Lime Dressing increases the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunity-boosting components of this recipe. Get The Recipe
