It's not too late to get your kids enrolled in Summer Museum Adventures - a great 2 day a week summer experience for 4 - 9 year-olds. The sessions are July 15 - August 15. You may pick a 9 - noon or 9-3 pm option. With the theme "Ready, Set, Move," Summer Museum Adventure will have your kids exploring movement through the science of how animals and nature move, practicing healthy habits by moving their bodies, and exploring transportation through the special exhibit "Driving Our Dreams: Imagination in Motion." Adventurers' days will be filled with outdoor games, visits to Hidden Hollow, art projects, science experiments, carousel rides and more. Advance registration is required by July 12. Family Fun Friday is Back with Toe Jam Puppet Band!
S ummer at Heritage is filled with fun for the whole family. Every Friday during July and August it's Family Fun Friday! With entertaining live performances, arts and crafts and outdoor games, every Friday is sure to be a blast. It kicks off this Friday with the Toe Jam Puppet Band. With their unique combination of original songs, masterful storytelling and puppetry, you and your kids will be singing and dancing along with this performance! Auto Show Rolls Into Heritage Saturday, July 6
Be part of the fun at the 2013 Annual Auto Show on July 6th! Antiques and classics from private collections will be on display. You'll be able to talk with proud owners, hear the stories of these one-of-a-kind cars or maybe exhibit your own. Over 100 antique and classic autos, hotrods and custom cars in excellent or restored condition will be on the Heritage Parade Field for your viewing pleasure. D id you know that you can capture and use run-off water from the rain to grow a garden? Learn how to create flourishing rain gardens and container water gardens by capturing and using run-off water in Sustainable Water Gardening: Capturing Rain Water and Cultivating Beautiful Aquatic Plants on July 20th from 9am- 12pm. You will learn about the plant species used in water gardens, their ideal conditions and how to care and maintain them. Plus, you will leave this workshop with water loving plants, special fertilizer and care instructions.
