A Message from the Hendrickson Family
It's June, which means we're fast approaching the longest day of the year! Our greenhouses are still near full capacity with a wide selection of annuals, baskets, patio planters, herbs, veggies, shrubs, and perennials. We're here to help with any of your gardening needs:) The large amounts of precipitation we've experienced in Southern Wisconsin has definitely alleviated the amount of watering required by gardeners in the area, but some plants are showing signs of having too much moisture. Plant roots need to take in oxygen from the soil for cellular respiration, but waterlogged soil suffocates the roots and slows down the growth of plants. If your containers are looking a little tired, first check to make sure they have adequate drainage. If needed, add extra drainage to the containers. The forecast looks a bit dryer over the next week, so allow your plants to dry out over the upcoming days and then hit them with fertilizer (we recommend bloom booster for annuals). This should help perk them up. Happy Father's Day! -Chris, Angie, & Leif Hendrickson |
