Today is a Brand New Day!

  Good morning Friend,

I pray that you are having a good week so far! I also hope that you are enjoying the weather outside too, Fall is here and the temperatures are just amazing!

A few semesters ago I did a class on Jeremiah and I learned so much from this book, specially about the sovereignty of God. The people of Israel, the chosen people of God were not following God but their own gods. They were not listening to Gods words but to the words of priest who were not preaching the truth but sugar coated lies. So the Lord gave all power and leadership to his servant Nebuchanezzar. As you read through the book of Jeremiah, he was evil. Yet he is called servant to bring the people of Israel back to their knees and prayer to the one true God. Our Lord is in control even in those times when evil seems to have won the battle. Perhaps it is a way to force us in front of the mirror and reflect on who we are and what we need to change?

Jeremiah 27:4-7 Give them this charge for their masters: 'Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: This is what you shall say to your masters: "It is I who by my great power and my outstretched arm have made the earth, with the men and animals that are on the earth, and I give it to whomever it seems right to me. Now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, my servant, and I have given him also the beasts of the field to serve him. All the nations shall serve him and his son and his grandson, until the time of his own land comes. Then many nations and great kings shall make him their slave.

What is your perspective after reading these verses?

   God bless you,
