Safe Families 10th Anniversary and National Conference

Celebrate Safe Families for Children's
10th Anniversary at our Annual National Conference

Tuesday, August 6th and Wednesday, August 7th, 2013

Safe Families for Children is becoming a vital movement in this country! Please plan to join us in exploring and learning ways you can Show Love and Share Space.

Join the Safe Families for Children community and learn practical steps you can take to deepen the breadth of Safe Families for Children in your area as an individual, family, leader, or organization.

Willow Creek Community Church will host the conference at Willow Creek's North Shore Campus. We invite all existing Safe Families for Children sites to participate, plus any individual or organization that is interested in learning more about Safe Families for Children.

Learn how you and your church can Show Love, and Share Space with families that are experiencing crisis.

Your participation is a fun opportunity to raise funding, but also introduce your friends and family members to the ministry you have so faithfully supported through the years. Car Show

Car Show - September 8 

SPC will be hosting another car show on September 8th! Join us in the parking lot after church for food, fun and a lot of cars! Contact Bob Anderson at banderson@southparkchurch.org if you are bringing your car. There is will be prizes for crowd favorites and goody bags for the first 100 cars.

Outreach

Team LYDIA - September 8. 7:00am 

When you join Team LYDIA, you can reach your personal fitness goals while standing up for children who need your support through your pledges and donations to LYDIA. Join us by participating in the Chicago Half Marathon, 5K or a race of your choice (you don't have to run in Chicago to join us!) Adult Ministries

Adult Journey Class: Book of Daniel - Sundays at 10:45am
Come and Join us each Sunday as we study the Book of Daniel. In this 12 week series, we will focus on both portions of Daniel, its narrative section with fascinating and suspenseful stories and the prophetic section with the wide scope through the ages. Daniel contains the most referenced Old Testament prophecies in the New Testament. This will be an exciting study.
  

Iron Men: New Series: One Big Story Saturdays, 7 - 8:30 a.m. MPR 

Iron Men gathering will not occur on July 6th and July 13th due to 4th of July Holiday and the Men's Retreat. Join us again on Sat. July 20th at 7 am in the MPR as we reflect on the "Big Story" from the Men's perspective and how this story impacts us directly. How did the Creation, the Fall, God's Promise to Abraham, Israelites Grumble and finally, God's Redemption plan impact us as men, husbands, fathers, and friends. This new series will continue until Sat. Aug. 17th.

Womens Bible Study: Chase Thursdays at 9:30am and 7pm

Chasing After the Heart of God by Jennie Allen explores the events that defined David's life and the Psalms that flowed out of those experiences. Thursdays, June 13-August 15, 9:30-11 a.m. or 7-8:30 p.m. Childcare will be offered for the morning session. $15 for the study. $10 per child for childcare or $20 for with families with more than one child. Registration begins May 26 at the Welcome Center. For more information e-mail Becky.

 

Faith and Fitness - Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 a.m.
Join us for this low-impact 
fitness class for women. No need to sign up, simply show up in room 209! This spring we will meet on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9 a.m.  

 

Youth and Children Ministries

WORDS that ECHO - Sunday at 9:15
 We our in our summer series 'WORDS that ECHO' June 16 - Sept 1. We are excited to announce that everyone, preschool through adults will be learning more about the Bible through 'One Big Story'. We will also be systematically learning the themes of all the Old Testament books. "WORDS that ECHO' is our High School through 2nd grade environment where we will be engaged in the same large group while participating in age- related small groups. ECHO will not be in session during the 10:45 am service from June 16 - September 1. Parents are encouraged to bring their child to the 9:15 am service.
  

Summer JAM and 1:20 - Wednesday at 7

We are in our summer series called Fingerprints. Join us as we discuss how we are uniquely made and how God is at work. 

 

Incoming 6th graders are invited to JAM! Come explore God's word, large group teaching, small group discussion, and a whole lot of fun and games with other teenagers.

 

 

Art and Sports Camp - July 29 

Handiwork Arts & Sports Camp based on Ephesians 2:10 and is designed to help children develop a deeper love for God through the arts. During the week, all the children will participate daily in one elective class of their choice of Sports, Hip Hop, Music, or Crafts as well as participate in daily recreation, devotions and refreshments. The camp is open to all children entering grades 2-6 in the 2013 school year. Our 2013 camp is from July 29 - August 1, concluding with our Showcase at 5pm on Thursday evening. Camp hours will be 3:00 - 5:00 pm. The cost of the camp is$20 per child; certain tracks may have an additional materials fee. DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS JULY 21.

  

Wonderland Wading Pool Outing - July 23, 6pm 

Parents and kids, kindergarten and under, join us for a splash of a time at our annual wading pool event! The facility at South Park Park District Wading Pool includes a zero depth entry, interactive water feature, a tot slide, and a playground located nearby. Registration required for this event, register at Wonderland Check-in table. See Teresa Sweitzer.
