ELECTION 2015
Tourism Announcements on the Campaign Trail

The 2015 Federal Election is at the halfway mark and Canadian tourism has been in the spotlight a number of times.

We've seen some keen awareness from the federal parties on the issues facing tourism, and have been pleased to see that our U.S. marketing proposal Connecting America, cruise ports and hunting & angling tourism, as well as visas and Parks Canada are on the election agenda.

Tourism was even mentioned as an important part of creating a sustainable economy. A strong tourism sector is paramount to a stronger Canada. #votetourism

Party Responses to TIAC's Questionnaire

Our industry is recognized as important and innovative in a changing economy. We have asked the four main parties to comment on the issues facing the tourism industry, and have party responses to TIAC's questionnaire available here

The questionnaire was sent out September 1st and parties had until the 19th to respond. All politics is local, so don't forget to check out TIAC's Election Toolkit which includes everything you need to engage candidates in your riding.

If you have used the Election Toolkit, or have talked to candidates about tourism, please let us know! Email Meagan Zettler at mzettler@tiac.travel.
