2014 was a successful year for the Travel and Tourism industry and 2015 looks to be just as promising. TIAC continues to work hard to reach the world average visitor growth rate of 5%. To meet this goal we are focusing on the following issues:
Aviation input costs and Visitor Documentation are barriers for travellers. TIAC is leveraging the Government as part review of theCanada Transportation Actto improve Canada's global competitiveness.

TIAC is committed to establishing a new nationally-aligned leisure marketing campaign into the United States. In the meantime The New York Timesis helping spread the word about Canada's amazing experiences. The US is a key component of our industry, 3 out of 4 visitors to Canada are American. With over 100M Americans now owning a passport, the time is right to re-engage the US market.
The Connecting America marketing proposal involves the federal government investing $35M a year for 3 years, to be matched by industry, to re-enter the US leisure market.
Congratulations Squamish and Quebec City! Hopefully the trend continues and Canadian Travel and Tourism products and places continue to gain international media attention.
