Supporting Earth-honoring Educators: A Day of Visioning and Dialogue in Community
Saturday, June 22nd, 10am-4pm
San Francisco, CA
We're excited to invite your wisdom, experience, and inspiration as we embark upon a new and exciting direction for the Earth Medicine Alliance. We want to know, "How can we truly support those who are already teaching and sharing earth-honoring ways?" This may include educators in public and private schools, spiritual guides in diverse earth-honoring traditions, stewards of environmental education programs, leaders of other non-profits, earth-honoring writers and artists, etc. Although this has been one element of our work to date, this will now be our primary focus moving forward.
Our day together will include participatory, facilitated spaces focused on how the Earth Medicine Alliance can effectively embody our new focus based on a clear understanding of what is truly needed. You'll also get to meet the leadership of the Alliance (current staff and board) and learn ways to become more involved.
There is no cost to attend, and we're pleased to offer a free, healthy lunch on location for all attendees (gluten-free and vegetarian options). Duration is 10am-4pm and spaces are limited, so we ask that you preregister by June 7th (email to paula@earthmedicine.org). We hope you can join us in this time of change and new inspiration!

Luisah Teish: We are the Transformers
"A day is coming when a group of people are going to gather like this, and when they call the ancestors, they're gonna call your name. What will be your legacy?"
We're pleased to share the keynote speech by Yeye Luisah Teish from our 2012 conference, Celebrating Ancestral Wisdom. Yeye is an author, storyteller, and priestess of the Ifá/Orisha faith of Yoruba-speaking West Africa and the African Diaspora. She is also the founding mother of Ile Orunmila Oshun and the School of Ancient Mysteries and Sacred Arts Center in Oakland, CA

Ways to Get Involved
The Earth Medicine Alliance is a 501(c)3 non-profit focused on helping humans to heal and enliven our relationship with the rest of the natural world. One of the best ways you can support our work is by making a donation to support our efforts (we are fully tax-exempt).
Dedicated volunteers are needed year-round for various projects:
- Voice of the Earth Project. Work on an interview/film project in a flexible team environment and interface with great earth-honoring elders and community leaders. Contact: elaine@earthmedicine.org
- Board of Directors. We are now a working board of six and we have space for others if it's a good fit. If you have experience serving on a board, and especially if you have fundraising, marketing, business, or other practical skills, feel good about contacting us. Please email info@earthmedicine.org
