MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL
HELENA LEVINE

A picture - or in the 21st century, a video! - is worth a thousand words. What better way is there to "bring our school to life" than through a video that captures the excitement of one of our newest offerings: our Makerspace!

Our staff, faculty and administrators have been diligently working and preparing for our "grand opening" of our state-of-the-art place of learning on Tuesday. In our Makerspace, collaboration, innovation, exploration and abundant learning will take place. Science, technology, engineering, the arts and math will thrive, and the Makerspace truly will offer something for everyone. All learning styles will be embraced. Special thanks to Mrs. Holley Stabler, Dr. Rebecca André, Mr. Jason Milne, Ms. Bari Lang and to ALL of the incredible educators who have worked tirelessly to make this vision become a reality. Our first professional development program for faculty will be focused on the Makerspace so that both educators and students will be informed about the true potential of this unique learning environment.  Kol Hakavod!

When we return from the Labor Day Weekend and begin classes on Tuesday, we will also celebrate the beginning of a new era at DKJA. Twenty-first century learning in a setting designed to enable thinking outside of the box will be part of everyday life for our students.

In the coming weeks, our new video studio also will open. TV production, videography and digital storytelling will be available for students with an interest in these offerings.

The possibilities are endless...please take a moment to view the video and see for yourself. I am sure you will be impressed.

Shabbat Shalom,
Helena Levine
Head of School
