MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL

HELENA LEVINE

Excitement is in the air...and everywhere at DKJA! I hope you've taken a moment to click the video
link above and view the pure joy that permeated our campus this past Monday as our school year began. Ruach, warmth, pride and kindness were abundant!

We are anticipating the best year ever at DKJA. I know that some of you have seen our construction nearing completion. Although we are subject to a schedule that at times is beyond our control, we will have an extraordinary renovated learning environment for our students that will continue to enhance our facilities. Our beautiful Prayer Space will open for our inaugural K-8 Tefila on Monday morning. Please take a moment to come see it for yourself. A formal grand opening will take place in the upcoming months, and details will be announced soon.

We have also implemented many excellent staff and administrative changes, which will help us bring our school's Mission and Vision to life. I feel confident that your children will have an absolutely wonderful year at DKJA. As always, my door is open, and I welcome and want your input.

Panim el Panim (Face to Face)
I am always eager to share my journey and passion for educating our future leaders with our community at large. This weekend, I am honored to have been selected to present at my family's place of worship, Congregation Shaarei Kodesh, as part of the synagogue's Panim el Panim (Face to Face) program. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to engage with our local Jewish community and our community partners. Please
click here for more information, and join me if you can.

Safety First! Storm Preparedness Information
In closing, I'd like to remind you to be safe and mindful of possible impending weather conditions that could impact us this weekend. For your reference, we have provided resourceful information about storms and threatening weather situations from the book Keeping Our Children Safe and Healthy (authored by Albert David with David Farcy, M.D.)

Kol HaKavod for making this information available to our school community! Click here for the link.

With great excitement and enthusiasm for an incredible 2016-2017 school year, I wish you a Shabbat Shalom.

Helena Levine,

Head of School

PTO NEWS

Thank you to the PTO for a wonderful Welcome Back Breakfast Social on Monday. PTO Co-Presidents Melissa Gerstin and Angela Poller and Event Chair Dr. Ximena Levy presented a fantastic opportunity to socialize, sign up to volunteer with the PTO and, most importantly, to start the year of right!

The next event is set for this Sunday, August 28th (weather permitting)...the Welcome Back Pool Party at Aqua Crest Pool.

Please check the DKJA Facebook Page (@dkjaBoca) on Saturday night (post-Shabbat) for a final determination if the event will take place. If the weather is inclement, the pool party will be postponed, and an alternate event will be scheduled.

The PTO soon will have it's new Facebook Page up...future events and information will be posted there too.
