Dear DKJA Community,
We reached another milestone as a true LEADERSHIP ACADEMY this week.
Students in grades K-12 shined at our first ever Lev Tov...Leading with Kindness Leadership Day. Outstanding, creative showcases of all principles of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People were combined with creative examples of living with kindness. All were beautiful, and the day was a huge success!
"The classrooms, hallways, our campus and our student performance demonstrated clearly that at DKJA, we know how to synergize!" said Mrs. Anita Schwartz, Lighthouse Coordinator, for whom "THANK YOU" is an

understatement. Mrs. Schwartz's tireless efforts, along with our dedicated team of staff, faculty and administrators, and of course our student Lighthouse leaders, made the day a pinnacle of success. They worked hand-in-hand with the Lighthouse Leadership Team comprised of Mrs. Allie Hasson, Mrs. Sydney Siegel, Mrs. Jaime Bricker and Mrs. Schwartz. Appreciation goes to Mrs. Lauren Ostrow and Mrs. Lindsey Gaines for preparing their model classrooms and training their students. A big thank you to Mrs. Zoraida Adams, Mrs. Liat Luel-Rochberg and Mrs. Karen Mart, who worked tirelessly on all of the musical numbers and the skits.
Please take a moment to also watch the video of our Lev Tov Rap. The enthusiasm is contagious, and it's definitely something not to be missed.
This week also included wonderful news about DKJA receiving recognition as a Common Sense Digital Citizenship Certified School. This honor recognizes our efforts in teaching digital literacy and citizenship to young people, and engaging the entire school community in this important discussion. DKJA is one of more than 100,000 schools across the country that use Common Sense Education's groundbreaking
resources. Special thanks to Mrs. Amanda Dawes for leading this important initiative.
In closing, I want to commend the wonderful RUACH (spirit) that permeated our entire school, and our surroundings, on Purim. In addition to revelry, distribution on Mishloach Manot baskets and Megillah readings, I am proud that our Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School students also participated in a meaningful seudah (meal) with Holocaust survivors. Kol Hakavod! What a week it was!
Shabbat Shalom, Helena Levine Head of School
