Dear DKJA Community,
"On three things the world stands. On Torah, On service [of G-d], And on acts of human kindness."
These words from our forefathers (Pirkei Avot) came to life today during two outstanding performances at Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day. They also emanated from the recent Chumash celebration, and at last Tuesday evening's Night of Inspiration presented by the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County/Deborah and Larry D. Silver Center for Jewish Engagement (which I was honored to be a part of). There truly are too many WONDERFUL accomplishments involving our school to praise individually. So many are intrinsic. They happen without a second thought. Kindness, commitment, chesed, living Jewishly and loving Torah are in our souls at DKJA.
As I enjoyed the presence of 700 grandparents and special friends on our campus today, the
beauty of L'Dor VaDor shined. The future generations of leaders made their loved ones proud. The program showcased DKJA's Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math initiatives and our school's Leadership-Excellence-Innovation platform. What a perfect time to share with you that the DKJA Middle School Math Team (pictured) recently participated in the Florida Engineering Society Miami Chapter MATHCOUNTS competition and placed second as a team, first among Jewish Day School competitors and earned Silver level status (one of only 10 schools in Florida to achieve this). The competition included schools from the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Team member Josh Rosenblatt placed fifth overall, and Daniel Ardity placed second overall. They collaborated with teammates Blake Schwartz, Daniella Bard, Justin Koolik, Sawyer Feller, Levi Stein, Zach Klein, Noah Rubin and Jordan Bouchner. Their advisor is Mr. Jeremy Weber. The team hopes to progress to Gold level status so that it will qualify for national competitions. Congratulations!
Help us keep the momentum going...
Please be sure to turn in your enrollment contract and deposit on or before the deadline, next Friday, February 19th. Each child's signed enrollment contract and deposit returned by the deadline will be entered in a drawing for a one-year FREE tuition scholarship for the 2016-2017 school year. An e-mail with further details soon will follow.
Thank you, in advance, for your assistance!
Shabbat Shalom, Helena Levine Head of School

COFFEEHOUSE - LAUGHTER, MUSIC, SONG, DANCE, DRAMA, COMEDY...
On Wednesday night, the Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School community of students, parents and faculty came together for an amazing Coffee House program! With co-hosts Dana Lipson ('17) and Mr. Nick Belotto guiding the show, the audience was treated to a night of laughter, music, song, dance, drama and comedy. There was a tremendous amount of positive energy as students showcased their diverse talents on the stage in Zinman Hall, interspersed with humorous videos of students and faculty throughout the evening. A meaningful milestone for second-graders took place last week. The students received the first book of the Torah, the book of Bereshit/Genesis. This marks the beginning of the formal study of Torah.
Under the direction of their teachers, Morah Gavish and Morah Kazinec, the students presented a moving and exciting program. The culmination of the event was when each student received his/her own first Chumash. Mazel Tov to the second graders for arriving at this moment.
"Let's wish them that the wisdom of Torah would guide them throughout their life," said Morah Yafa Levit, Principal of Lower School Judaic Studies.
