Our normal Youth Night was a great success but we seemed to run out of time before the sun set so we are changing things up this year. The BLC Youth Day will be at Camp Vanasek in Baxter. It'll be full of fun, food, prizes and activities. Some activities include lure making, casting contests, minnow races and much, much more! Like in the past this event is free to attend. Parents mark your calenders!

This is the Chapter's Tourney and is not part of the MHOTY
BLC members only with no entry fee
Awards and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 places
Big Fish Pot will again be offered
Raffles will be on hand to win some cool prizes
Potluck lunch and awards presented after tourney at Park area at access
Unlike the MHOTY's "come fish when you can" format, this is a tourney and the tourney hours are 7am - 7pm
The Mantrap access is next to the National Forest Campground for those that are interested in camping before and/or after Tournament

So far the BLC has 2 teams ready for the Hamm. We are looking for more people to form more teams. September 18-20 are the dates with Spring Bay Resort on Lake Vermilion is the host resort. Info: Only muskies caught on Topwater lures will count for this Round of the MHOTY. The Chapter will be supplying attendees with a little grab bag with some lunch/snack inside as we will not be doing a potluck lunch afterwards. Make sure you contact Brett Stark to get recorded that you attended the outing to get your attendance point.

Thirteen members and non members made the trip up to the Cass Lake Chain at the attempt to land a beauty. The weather was less than perfect as rain kept everyone's rain gear on most of the day. Everyone saw fish with 2 muskies seeing the bottom end of the net. Mike Wallentine boated a 41" muskie just beating out Dusty Cartie's 40.5"er. Congrats to you both!

So far the MHOTY is showing a glimpse of great competition as muskies have been boated by different people thru the first two rounds. The race is on!
