Greetings!
June's meeting: It's lure making part 2. At last month's meeting we painted up some Wades Wobblers and at this month's meeting we will be assembling the lures. There will be a few different kinds of dressings on hand to tie onto the rear hook if desired. Wade will have on hand some more blanks to paint but the top coat application will be on your own. We'll also have a few tackle making components on hand to repair and make other kinds of lures. If you have a Wades that needs some repair by all means bring those too. It'll be a great time to get those ready for the water too.

Outdoor Youth Expo
Saturday, June 8 at the Lakeshore Conservation Club. 10am - 2:30pm. Food, activities and prizes. This event is in it's 5th year and has been a great success. Kids get to participate in many outdoor sporting activities including: trap shooting, archery, duck/goose calling, bluebird house building and tons more. This is a free event and great time for the kids!
BLC Youth Day
Saturday, August 24 at Camp Vanasek. This the revised youth night that the BLC has done for a long time. Many activities are planned including lure making, a fishing contest and games. There will be food and prizes to be won. Stay tuned for further details!

2013 Gil Hamm
So far the BLC has 2 teams ready for the Hamm. We are looking for more people to form more teams. September 18-20 are the dates with Spring Bay Resort on Lake Vermilion is the host resort. Muskie Shootout Tournament on Leech Lake, October 12-13 at Horseshoe Bay Lodge. Another great Tournament is planned with a payout increase over last year. The website has been updated and will continue to do so as things progress. For more details visit muskieshootout.com

Chapter Release Forms
The season is finally here! With that, muskies will be CPR'd and members will then need to submit release forms to our Release Chairman Chad Davis or at the monthly meeting or submit them onto the Lunge Log on the MI website. The same rules will apply in submitting release forms. A RELEASE FORM MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN 30 DAYS AFTER THE RELEASE! Forms submitted after the 30 days will NOT be recorded in the Chapter's release standings.
Keep it simple and worry free. Catch a muskie and submit a form ASAP!

A few changes will be made in our Replica program for this year. Final details will be solidified very soon and we'll announce the changes asap. Some things will stay the same including the eligibility requirements.
1. Membership must be in good standing at the time of release in order for the release to count
2. You must attend at least 1 Muskie Hunter of the Year outing in 2013 and attend at least 4 BLC monthly meetings.
