April's meeting: If you missed the Lure Swap last month at Cragun's don't fear. It was a great success that were going to do it again! This month's meeting will be another Lure Swap at the Waterfall Inn. Just like we've done in the past. So pull out those lures or equipment and bring them to the meeting. We are also going to run another membership drive as well.

So far the BLC has 1 team signed up for the Gil Hamm on Lake Vermilion September 18-20, 2013. We are expecting to be sending 3-4 teams. If you are interested in fishing the Hamm contact Jeff to get signed up. The Chapter will be covering the $25/team entry fee. Participates will be responsible for their own cabin reservations. Augers Resort on Lake Shamineau has requested from Morrison County to rezone the resort property in order for them to expand the resort to accommodate for more cabins and RV pads. This proposal has the Lake Association on the opposition to the proposal. The concern is the affect of the water quality to the lake if it does get approved. According to the Lake Association and a scientific study done last year that there is a high run off from Augers Point into the lake already. Possibly from leaking septic systems. The concern is more run off into the lake if the expansion is approved. A petition was set up for people against the proposal to sign. More than enough signatures were documented to move the petition forward for the County to discuss. Update: the County Planing and Zoning board has passed the approval of the rezoning but it is still in the "recommendation" stage at this point.
