Winter outings! Our Tournament Director, Brett Stark, is organizing a couple outings for the BLC to do some ice fishing. A February Tip Up Challenge is being set up as I write this. Date and time will be available at this month's meeting. The lake is set for Mitchell Lake. Big Pike!
The other outing that is in the works will be this spring chasing some bluegills and crappies.

Speaking of ice... please be very careful out there venturing on the ice. Even though our area lakes have 10"-14" of decent ice, it's not set up very good on some lakes. Ice sheets will move around and create cracks and pressure heaves. Ice is never safe but as it thickens it becomes more stable as pressure ridges become more predictable. Take care out there and good luck!

We are looking at shaking up our annual lure swap and poolside demos this spring. We are looking at combining the two and creating a new and used lure show with poolside demos. Stay tuned for further details.

The BLC will be submitting 2 new grant requests for the Hugh Becker Fund. The first will be for the Baby/Man Lake genetics study and the other for the Mississippi River pit tag study.
