Fall semester is upon us. Move-in weekend, this Saturday and Sunday, will see students pour into Berkeley, settling into dorms and getting ready for classes to start. Three weeks of "Getting Your Bearings" events and activities, along with tips on campus life and advice from older students, await them on the New Student Services welcome website.  
Barry Bergman Encouraged by colleagues and against his better judgment, Barry Bergman, a writer and editor at UC Berkeley, is enrolled in the Greater Good Science Center's fall online course, "The Science of Happiness," which launches Sept. 8. "I became a feminist by necessity," writes Mary K. Gaillard. "My passion was physics."
