CHAMBER CONNECTION: Week of June 2, 2014
Greetings from Pulaski County
Chamber of Commerce

Dear Members:

This time of year always puts me in a reflective state of mind as I watch all the young people graduating from high school and college. The changes that have taken place in the past thirty years (no smart comments please) are just incredible. I'm talking technology. We are talking about positive changes! Heck, we don't even have to go back 30 years to see incredible technological advances. Just since 2013 there has been exploration into memory implants, smart watches and temporary social media.  Temporary social media -can you imagine messages that self-destruct? If you are older than me, you might remember the show, Get Smart back in the 60's. He had his phone in his shoe or the James Bond movies where James always had a secret weapon in his watch. Back then it was all just fantasy. Now those ideas have evolved and come to fruition. It is mind boggling! It makes me wonder how these young people keep up with all this massive change. Are we equipping our youth with the right knowledge for the future or are we just trying to play catch up?  Hmmm I wonder...

Work hard, be productive and above all else stay positive!.

VA Shoreline Contractors

In October of 2010, the company VA Shoreline Contractors was founded. It was established by three friends with a passion for Claytor Lake and numerous years of combined construction experience among them. Matthew Kesler, Brent Harrison, and Jamie Riggins formed this premier construction company to focus on the building needs of Claytor Lake residents and commercial businesses.

For the past 3-1/2 years,  VA Shoreline Contractors has earned the reputation of bringing professional and quality workmanship to Claytor Lake.  They are a full service contractor specializing in new dock construction, existing dock renovation, and installation of boat and PWC lifts. They also do repair and maintenance on existing boat and PWC lifts, shoreline restoration, decks, and home renovations.  They have all the equipment required to drive piles (steel supports for your dock) and restore the shoreline. Additionally, VA Shoreline will provide free estimates and assistance in obtaining permits with AEP and Pulaski County.

As strong community supporters, they have provided countless hours of manpower and equipment to assist with the Claytor Lake cleanup. Recently they played in the Chamber's "Networking on The Green Golf Tournament" fundraiser, and coming in last place they jokingly commented,  "I guess that proves we spend more time working for the people on Claytor Lake than on our golf game."

For more information about how VA Shoreline Contractors can help you enjoy your lake property on beautiful Claytor Lake, call 540-381-8501 or visit their website at www.vashoreline.com
