From Pastor Dittirch And Transition Update
Dear St. Paul Lutheran Church,

I wanted to write a quick note of gratitude for the opportunity to serve as your pastor. It is in the excitement and hope of our ministry together that I accept the call to serve. I look forward to hearing your stories and learning how God has used your Church to make a difference in the world. It will be important for me to take time and listen and pray with you when I arrive. I want to celebrate your community's history and to embrace your passions and heartbreaks. God has been busy in your community and I look forward to seeing and embracing God's handiwork there.

I thank God for the leadership of St. Paul with whom this process has been a joy. I give thanks for the call committee. I want to especially give thanks for Tim Reisen and Dave Upmeyer for their guidance and character.  I want to thank Pastor Ulmanis for preparing a way for this new call. Rest assured that St. Paul is in good hands with these leaders and I have appreciated their support greatly.

In this transition, I would appreciate your prayers. Transitions are full of goodbyes and stressors that can take a toll. Please keep Brenda, Isaac and I in your prayers. It will make a difference.

Thanks again for giving me this opportunity to serve.

Forever in Grace,
Rev. Justin Dittrich

One last very special opening remains for someone to join the teaching team with Susan Kvale and Pam Webb for children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade.  Please speak to Susan, Pam or Mary Mobley to learn about this great opportunity!

Sunday School meets each week from 10:45-11:30 am.  Children meet downstairs for an opening and then transition at to their classrooms at 11 am.  Grades 3-5 meet in a classroom on the 2nd floor, Kindergarten -Grade 2 meet in the room adjacent to the opening area and children in preschool meet in the classroom next to the Nursery.    Children can be picked up at 11:30 am from their classrooms.  This week, the children will study Genesis 3 and learn sin spread to all people through Adam but through Christ, God offers forgiveness to all people.

The Middle school will meet in their classroom upstairs to discuss the depth and breadth of God's gracious generosity. The High School students will meet in the narthex at the close of worship to sell "St. Paul God's Work. Our Hands." T shirts.

A huge thank-you to all who contributed to the success of the Rummage Sale.  A final tally will be forthcoming. So whether you contributed items for the sale; food, drink or cash for the luncheons; an hour or many hours of set-up or on sale days; or you purchased items - it all goes toward making this WELCA sponsored Whole Congregation Rummage Sale a tremendous success !    We had more than 75 individuals actually work at some point.

LSSM Connection
Supervised Independent Living Programs
This month we lift up in prayer all of the children who have aged out of foster care, especially those who are in  Lutheran Social Services of Michigan Supervised Independent Living Programs.  We pray that these children are able to find the support they need to pursue their goals after high school and beyond.  We pray for the adults and families who have opened their homes to them and show God's love to them through their care and support.
