Living the Word Sunday School
|
Adult Forum:
Presenter: Bea Grenzke
Are we, as a congregation, satisfied with our prayer ministries? Do we feel there is an opportunity for growth in this area? Have you, in your personal experiences with other congregations, been involved in prayer ministries that might be appropriate here at St. Paul Church? Let's meet together for a discussion of these questions. Living the Word Sunday School 10:45-11:30 Today
The Sunday school will be putting on "Christmas Past and Present" Sunday, December 15. Today roles will be given to the children in preschool - Grade 5 during the Sunday school opening. Please bring your children directly to Sandrock Hall so we can start on time. Regular attendance in the coming weeks is very important in helping the children feel comfortable and confident. At 11 am, the children move to their classrooms for the lesson. Today the children will hear the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from Daniel 3 and learn that just as Jesus was with and saved the three men in the fiery furnace, so our Savior is with us and saves us through His Word and Sacraments, sustaining us when we suffer in His name. Middle School youth discuss the readings on living in hope based on the assurance Jesus gives us of the reality of eternal life. High School youth will prepare the first donation from St. Paul's non-food pantry for Freedom House

CHURCH COUNCIL POSITIONS
| In December the Congregation of St. Paul will vote to fill Council positions for Vice President, Treasurer, Christian Education, Worship, and Social Action.
Although it is a serious commitment, serving on Congregation Council is a rewarding experience and a great way to serve our Church. Please give this thoughtful consideration.
If you are interested in running for one of these positions and would like additional information, please contact Jack Diesing via email at jack.diesing@ally.com or by phone at (313) 882-5988.

Refugee Services
|
This month our focus in our prayer partnership with Lutheran Social Services of Michigan is Refugee Services. On November 17th, Rafat Ita, will share in Adult Forum what services are provided to refugees and the struggles they have encountered. The demand for resettlement services has increased with the rising unrest in the Middle East. Continue to lift refugees and the LSSM workers in your prayers in November.
