Pastor Ken Lentz Preaches August 11
| Pastor Lentz, a former Senior Pastor, now living in Scottsdale, Arizona will preach and be honored at a Reception following worship. We look forward to hearing him share the Good News, and he is anxious to see old and new members. If you know of a former member who won't see this publicity, tell them of Pastor Lentz's visit...it will be a fun time of reconnecting with St. Paul members from the 70's.
In 1965, Ken was our Vicar for a year. He then graduated from Trinity Seminary and got his PhD in church history at Heidelberg, Germany. In 1973, he was called to be our Associate Pastor with Rev. Sandrock. Upon Rev. Sandrock's retirement, Ken was called to be Senior Pastor in 1976 and shared his many talents for seven years before leaving to do ministry in northern California (ten years--also teaching classes at Berkeley Seminary). His pastoral years then took him to Venice, Florida (seven years), Buxtehude Germany (six months), and finally semi retirement in 2002 to Arizona. Since then, he has been a transition Pastor to churches as small as Globe, Arizona (mining town) and as large as a mega church in Phoenix of 3,900.
During his years with us, he reorganized the Sunday morning format--church worship time was separated from Sunday School/Adult Education time. It was also during his time with us that our Constitution was modified to allow more lay committee involvement and corporate leadership by laity

Pray & Play Leaders Needed
| Pray & Play supports families with young children in worship by giving children a break and allowing parents an opportunity to focus on the sermon. Adult leaders are needed to spend 20-25 minutes with the children and lead them in a closing prayer; there is no teaching expectation. It is our hope that a number of volunteers can share this responsibility on a rotating basis. Please contact Mary Mobley or Patty Dougherty to be part of this ministry.

Thank You!!!!
| Thank you! to all who donated supplies to the LSSM Foster Camp! We nearly filled the tent and sent off several sleeping bags, toiletries, caps, backpacks, toys, swim suits and gear, sandals and towels! We also donated over 300 dollars toward costs. The staff was very excited and will be visiting us with some camp updates this fall! Thank you also to all who responded to the urgent needs from Wayne County Family Center. Over a dozen twin sheet sets, many towels, cleaning cloths and many cases of packaged snacks were donated. The program's needs change when the children are out of school for the summer and we were able to help them out as these needs arose
