Council Update on Interim Pastor
We are working with the Synod and Pastor Ulmanis to obtain the required work visa for him to be able to work in the USA.  He plans to live in Windsor and will commute daily to Grosse Pointe.  There will be some upfront costs to obtain the visa; we are working on an expedited application and may employ legal assistance to ensure a timely result.  These costs will be more than offset by savings in health care payments for Pastor Ulmanis because he will remain in the Canadian Health Care system.  Our best guess is that Pastor Ulmanis will be able to join us in early July.  In the meantime, Pastor Collier will be leading worship and managing the ongoing work of the staff.  Please keep him, the staff, church leadership, our congregation and Pastor Ulmanis in your prayers in this time of transition.

Linda Bauer to Retire
Linda Bauer has decided to retire as organist and bell choir director effective the end of August.   We thank Linda for over 33 years as Organist, Director of Music, founder and director of the Bell Choir, and a major reason for the excellent music program we have at St. Paul.  We will formally recognize Linda in August.  The Music Committee has begun a search for a replacement; see Eric Miller or Tom Marini if you have suggestions or know of someone who would be interested in these positions.

Many children in foster care are awaiting adoption into forever families.  Lutheran Adoption Service specializes in the placement of children from the State's foster care system. There is little or no cost involved in adopting a child from the foster care system.

Adopting is not as hard as you may think! Lutheran Adoption Service requirements are flexible:

*Married, divorced and single men and women can adopt
*You don't have to be wealthy or own your home
*You can live in an apartment
*You can have other children
*You can work, as long as you have adequate child care arrangements
*You don't need to have reached a set level of education

For more information on adoption go to:
