Council Update on Interim Pastor
The Church Council voted on May 15 to accept Pastor Krister Ulmanis as our Interim Pastor.  With this authorization, the Executive Committee will be working with Pastor Heather Holland from the Synod Office to develop a salary package and plan for him to join us full-time in June.   Pastor Ulmanis is from Ontario, Canada and has over 21 years of parish ministry and a varied background, with good administrative and faith development skills.   We look forward to him serving with us in our transition to new pastoral ministry at St. Paul.

Linda Bauer to Retire
Linda Bauer has decided to retire as organist and bell choir director effective the end of August.   We thank Linda for over 33 years as Organist, Director of Music, founder and director of the Bell Choir, and a major reason for the excellent music program we have at St. Paul.  We will formally recognize Linda in August.  The Music Committee has begun a search for a replacement; see Eric Miller or Tom Marini if you have suggestions or know of someone who would be interested in these positions.

Pentecost
Please join us for this very special Sunday.  Seventeen graduating Seniors will be honored during the Stepping into the World and Quilt service at the 9 am service.  At the 11:15 am service, four students will affirm their faith during the Affirmation of Faith service.  We will also celebrate Pentecost, so please wear red.

Living the Word for Children and Youth

pentecost
This Sunday the children will have a delayed start of Living the Word so they may attend the reception for the High School graduates.  A lesson on Pentecost will begin with the opening  at 10:30 in Sandrock Hall.  The children will learn that God gives us the Holy Spirit to create and sustain faith in Jesus Christ. High School and Middle School classes will not meet.

Please join us as we honor and thank
Pastor Fred Harms

Please remember the retirement luncheon reservations must be recieved by May 19. Complete details and the reservation form can be found here

Due to larger than normal attendance expected for Pastor Harms' retirement worship service on June 2 at 10 A.M, please consider the following actions to maximize available parking:
  • Walk to church if possible
  • Park on Chalfonte, Lothrop, or on Williams
  • Consider carpooling
These actions will help to perserve parking lot spaces for guests and those for whom parking on the street may be a problem.  Thank you for your consideration.

Many children in foster care are awaiting adoption into forever families.  Lutheran Adoption Service specializes in the placement of children from the State's foster care system. There is little or no cost involved in adopting a child from the foster care system.

Adopting is not as hard as you may think! Lutheran Adoption Service requirements are flexible:

*Married, divorced and single men and women can adopt
*You don't have to be wealthy or own your home
*You can live in an apartment
*You can have other children
*You can work, as long as you have adequate child care arrangements
*You don't need to have reached a set level of education

For more information on adoption go to:
