May Mystery Movie Night | Following the success of our movie night in March, the Children's Choirs bring you..."May Mystery Movie Night" Friday, May 10th. We will start at 7:00pm. In honor of Pastor Harms upcoming retirement, I asked him to pick one of his favorite family movies to share with us. Shhh! It's a surprise and I won't reveal the title! The freewill offering will cover the expenses of the evening and go to Pastor Harm's retirement (50% goes to Luther Seminary in Minnesota). Come and join us! Be surprised and enjoy a funny, heartwarming family favorite! The Children's Choirs and I want to thank the congregation for the new instruments we were able to purchase. Be sure to be in church on Mother's Day when we will include them with our songs. Through your generosity in coming to our March movie night, buying the Easter candy, individual gifts, the gift from the WELCA rummage sale and a matching gift from the music fund, we raised $2000 and were able to buy 5 Orff instruments. The Trempus family also donated a high quality glockenspeil that their son no longer uses. Thank you! (If you're so inclined, there are 3 more instruments we need in order to have a complete set. These cost $330, $357, and $952. Donations are very welcome!) Maggie Rees-Baker

May 12 A Bible Study on Mark Presenters: J. Callewaer
Living the Word for Children and Youth
This Sunday the children will learn that Jesus our risen Savior, ascended into heaven to prepare a place for us there with Him. The children meet in Sandrock Hall at 10:10 for the opening, and continue to celebrate Easter of with short nursery rhyme songs. Children in the choirs will be dismissed early to prepare.
The middle school youth will discuss the Gospel lesson from John 17:20-26 when Jesus prays for us to have faith and unity, and discuss what that means. The high school youth will discuss how this ties into this month's LSSM focus on Foster Children.

These actions will help to perserve parking lot spaces for guests and those for whom parking on the street may be a problem. Thank you for your consideration. |

Update on Interim Pastor and the Call Process | |
The Church Council and Staff met with our proposed canditate for Interim Pastor on Tuesday evening in an informal session. Pastor Krister Ulmanis is from Ontario, Canada and has served several Lutheran congregations over 21+ years of ministry. Council will decide whether to accept Pastor Ulmanis or seek another candidate at our meeting on May 15. If accepted, Pastor Ulmanis could begin in early June. Council and a Synod representative will conduct an exit interview with Pastor Harms on May 28.
