Our Lenten dramas are based on Luke 14:16 when Jesus told the parable of the "Banquet of the King." The dramas focus on Christian worship.

Adult Forum
March 10 In our partnership with the LSSM, our focus this month is persons with disabilities. The Adult Forum will hear about what LSSM does for individuals with developmental disabilities in their group homes and the services that these homes provide. You may also hear how LSSM helps families with children with learning disabilities that elect to keep them at home.
Presenter: Kevin Majeske

Faith and Ale 2.0
| On March 17, we will meet at the home of Marie and Mike Zeller. Since it is St Patrick's Day, we thought it would be appropriate to explore the Celtic and Irish history, faith stories and customs. This will be an interactive session with shared leadership by anyone who wishes to share with the group. Personal family stories are especially welcomed. Marie is preparing a simple meal with peasant soup and Irish soda bread; please RSVP to her so she knows how much food is needed. There will be a free will offering to cover the meal and support the Pieces Be With You Quilt project for Freedom House.

March Update
| During the month of March we will be focusing on LSSM programs that deliver care for Persons with Disabilities and a community youth program called Neighborhood House. Lutheran Social Services of Michigan manages 15 group homes for adults with developmental disabilities. Each home has three to 16 residents and 24-hour staffing. LSSM works to integrate their consumers into the larger community by encouraging choice and independence. Please join us for the Adult Forum on March 10th when Kevin Majeske shares about the programs LSSM provides for persons with disabilities.
Lutheran Social Services of Michigan runs Neighborhood House in Saginaw to provide a safe haven for children in struggling urban neighborhoods. Neighborhood House offers educational and recreational activities for children and a hot dinner program for families.
The manager of Neighborhood House has started a program to provide personal hygiene items to the school children and young adults as most of them would not be able to afford these items. Making these items available to kids can make them feel like they fit in at school and help their self-image.
A current need for this branch of LSSM is personal hygiene items for the middle and high school students such as;
Toothbrushes Tooth Paste Bar soap Body wash Hair shampoo and conditioner Razor blades: male and female
There will be a collection bin in the foyer for Neighborhood House. Please pray for the ministry of LSSM this month and for all the programs that serve disabled adults and at-risk teens.
