Adult Forum
Adult Forum for January 13 to Review Projected Budget for 2013. The projected budget for 2013 indicates a deficit of about $26,000. The budget committee and council are committed to presenting a balanced budget at the annual meeting and adjustments will have to be made to accomplish that goal. The budget committee will present the basis for the projected budget, including envelope giving based on current pledges and expenditures based on anticipated staffing and programming for 2013. Please attend so that you may understand our current situation and offer ideas and feedback.
Living the Word for children and adults:
Baptismal Promises made and kept!
This week everyone is invited to reflect on their Baptism with a special Milestone event during Living the Word. Please plan to meet in the Fireside room at 10:10. Families are invited to take the journey together. Single folks are invited to join together as a family to share their experience.

Stewardship |
Please if you haven't turned in your 2013 pledge card now is the time to turn it in. We have had 97 members pledge which is 15 short of pledges from 2012, we're almost there. We are about $26,000 short of the proposed budget. If you would like to revise your pledge, please contact Gretchen Archinal to make the change. Thank You!
The 2013 envelopes are now available.

Stepping into God's Word First Bibles Milestone | Students in third grade (or older if they have not yet received a Bible) are invited to attend a special workshop for our First Bibles Milestone on Saturday, January 26st beginning at 9 a.m. This workshop is designed for children and parents to learn to use their Bibles together. Bibles will be presented to the students in worship on Sunday, January 27th. Please RSVP for this event by January 16th so we can be certain to have enough Bibles for the students. There is no charge for this workshop, but free will donations are gratefully accepted that will help us to provide Bibles for students in next year's class. Please contact the church office to sign up at 881-6670, or Mary Mobley at 885-0529 for more information.

Habitat for Humanity Update |
Next Habitat Grosse Pointe Partners Volunteer Opportunity. St. Paul will host the 2nd Saturday Build on February 9, 2013 from 8 am to 4 pm. We will meet in our parking lot at 7:45 am to carpool to the work site. We most likely will be working inside rehabbing houses (possibly stripping wall paper and painting) in the Morningside area, just across Mack Avenue and east of Alter Road. We will need about 10 volunteers for that day. Call Dave Upmeyer (881-9522) or email upmeyers@hotmail.com to sign up. There are similar opportunities during the week throughout January for those able to work then. I'm also still looking for someone to coordinate these activities with the Grosse Pointe Partners. Thanks

Lay Care Opportunities | |
NEW LAY CARE PROGRAM
Many of our elders live alone and can't get to church regularly. We are starting a "Care Call" phone ministry that will reach out and support their need for friendship. Women, men, and youth, willing to make friendly phone calls to an assigned member(s), can make a difference in someone's day. This new lay care program would be in addition to our communion visits to shut-ins. If interested in being a "Care Caller", contact Marie Zeller ( mmzeller@comcast.net or 885-5052). We want this Care Call program in operation by January 1st.
You can choose the person or persons to call; or we can assign you someone. We may rotate names so each shut-in or elder member gets the joy of having several "Care Call" friends during the year. Sharing yourself, and hearing their stories will not take a large block of your time. You do it in the comfort of your home and on your own schedule. Consider volunteering for this new project.
