Documentary. Don't let the word scare you away from this film. Searching for a connection between a specific scripture verse and the state of the USA since September 9, 2011, The Isaiah 9:10 Judgement film is an interesting and mind-bending production and is based on the recently popular book, The Harbinger.
"The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars." - Isaiah 9:10 NIV
The film (which has two parts) puts the scripture verse at the centre of the 911 terrorist attacks and the suffering of the America people that has worsened since. From terrorists to the type of stone placed and the species of tree planted at the site of the collapse of the towers, there are nine characteristics that make the event seem like more than just an unfortunate event. This film presents the falling of Israel in the Bible as a foretelling of the fall of America if the nation does not seek the forgiveness of God. Photos and clips from news networks are deftly woven together with explanations from Rabbi Jonathan Cahn to truly make us think about our actions, how they impact our future and how everything relates back to God's word.
At times, the film repeated itself instead of making new arguments and the music was sometimes too intense for what was being discussed, however, the movie held my attention through both disks. It made me realize how precious our time is for repentance and to seek salvation, both as individuals and as a nation. The film presents the foretelling of judgement not as a signal of the end, but as a chance to find salvation.
This is definitely a movie I recommend watching even if you don't always agree with the logic. The overall purpose of the film makes it worth making time for: we are the light of the world, and as children of God, now, we must shine."
