Volunteers Needed for K9Splash!

K9Splash!Volunteers are needed for K9Splash! Time slots for both days are still available for Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25. We need quite a few people for shifts 2 and 3 on Saturday, and we have almost all day Sunday available.

Please consider helping us out with our annual fundraiser! It is not only fun for your four-legged friend, it helps support the two dog parks with improvements and enhancements. For instance the Parks Department installed agility equipment at K9 Acres this week. This was made possible with money raised at previous K9Splash! events. We cannot hold these events without your help.

For a list of volunteer opportunities at K9Splash! go to the K9COLA website or email k9splashvolunteers@gmail.com for more information.

A Dog Treat Recipe

Here's another treat dogs will love. Consider baking some for us to sell at the Farmers Markets! Please include a recipe or list of ingredients. Here are more ideas for treats!

Peanut Butter Biscuits

1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. oatmeal
1 T. baking powder
1 1/2 c. peanut butter
3/4 c. milk

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and baking powder, then set aside. Blend peanut butter and milk together. Add to dry ingredients. Mix well. Roll dough out and cut like Christmas cookies (1/4" thick at least). Bake on cookie sheet for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Refrigerate or freeze.

Fences and Gates

Please report any holes in fences or other problems at either park to Site Coordinator Ken Ennis at  ken@k9cola.org.

Also, at K9 Acres please do not open the gate between the training yard and main yard areas. There is no lock on this gate and it has been found open and unlatched. This could allow dogs to escape.

Thanks again for your interest in our dog parks, and we'll look forward to seeing you at the park!

Sincerely,
K9COLA Board of Directors
