SaPaDaPaSo - St. Patrick's Day Parade
 SaPaDaPaSo is the annual Saint Patrick's Day parade, held every year in Cedar Rapids, rain or shine. For many years K9COLA has marched in the parade with our dogs dressed in festive Irish costumes. You can imagine how the spectators cheer for the dogs! And for us it's fun and also provides some exposure for K9COLA and the existence of the dog parks. We're planning to march again this year and hope you will join us! The date of the event is Sunday, March 17, and the parade starts at 1:00 pm. We are entry #4, which is the same as last year, and we will meet in staging area "A," which is on 4th Ave. S.E. close to 6th St. S.E. This is also the same area as last year. We need to be there between 12 and 12:30 pm. All are welcome to join us. If you bring your dogs please remember to bring some bags to clean up after them. Calling ALL Volunteers!
 The K9Splash! Committee is looking for people to help with this year's event. We will be meeting nex ton Tuesday April 2nd at 6 pm at Ambroz Recreation Center. Everyone is welcome, but we'd specifically like to find one individual who is interested in helping with advertising and another to coordinate door prizes. We only ask for a minimum commitment of 2 hours per month from now through August. For more information contact Marie at marie@k9cola.org.
We are also looking for individuals to help with our Farmer's Market tables. We need people to bake dog treats or create other home-made items (not for human consumption) for us to sell at our booth. Remember to include the ingredients list for all dog treats. We also need people to staff the booth. Calling All Rain Dancers and Meteorologists!
 Just kidding, but we do need some good spring weather so the City can finish its work at K9 Acres and we can open our second off-leash dog park in Cedar Rapids. As of now, no date has been set; it will depend on the weather. In the meantime, make sure you have your new 2013 permit and stop by Cheyenne for some fun in the snow or warm spring weather -- whatever Iowa has in store for us -- for the rest of March! |

Critter Crusaders of CR is Hosting Trivia Night
 Is your mind a vault of useless information? Do you have a photographic memory? Are you able to spew forth facts that would impress even Alex Trebek? Then join us for Trivia Night, Saturday, March 9th at 6 pm at the Long Branch!
Critter Crusaders of CR is hosting their 2nd trivia night fundraiser, and we want you to be part of the fun! Bring a team (maximum of 6) or join one there! Registration starts at 5 pm with the game starting at 6. We will have multiple quiz rounds for you to work as a team to answer. The winning team will win CASH and the second place team will earn prizes. Of course, there are games and extra chances to win prizes throughout the evening. We will provide snacks, and you can purchase beverages and additional food from the bar. Enjoy a friends' night out and help to raise money for the animals of Cedar Rapids Animal Care & Control!
