                   July 2013
 Dear (Contact First Name),

Last week was an exciting week here on Cape Cod! I am delighted to announce that our small Cape Cod based business,  PID Analyzers, LLC, has been selected as a 2013 recipient of the prestigious Research & Development (R& D) 100 Award for the development of our arsenic in food and water analyzer in the laboratory equipment category. The "R& D 100 Awards recognize the 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace over the past year" according to the press release issued Monday by R& D Magazine.
In addition to our business receiving this honor,  my father, Jack Driscoll, as the developer of the winning product, will receive  special recognition at the awards ceremony on November 7, 2013 in Orlando, FL.

Our latest  GC application is: Fracking and hydrocarbon baseline monitoring of methane in wells by GC-FID.
The sensitivity of our portable GC Model GC312 for methane is in the ppb range  and can be seen in the chromatogram of
methane in ambient air in this new application note. Click here to view.

The Model 301-C PID is a flexible and versatile analyzer that is in it's fourth generation. This Model is, by far, the most powerful and versatile (with its embedded Pentium PC) 300 series GC developed by us since 1985. Read more about our Process Analyzers here.

I'm preparing for another busy meeting  which is nearly here: the Fall National Meeting of the American Chemical Society September 8-12 in Indianapolis. Early registration discount ends Friday July 26, 2013. I have co-organized four sessions: Role and Value of Social Networking in Advancing the Chemical Sciences (Full Day Oral Symposium; Presiding morning session, presenting morning session), Air Monitoring (half day Oral symposium, Presiding), STEM Women in Innovation and Investing  (co-organizer half day oral symposium) and Air Monitoring Poster Session (Presiding and Presenting).

I am presenting: Small Chemical Businesses and the Importance of Being Social,  Benefits of a Division of Small Chemical Businesses membership, and Improved quantification of sulfur compounds in the atmosphere by hyphenated GC-FPD-PID.

Additionally, I am planning the

Programming at the upcoming Northeast Regional Meeting #NERM2013. I am seeking small scientific business people who are located in the Northeast who are willing to speak in any/all of my three sessions: Resources for Startups, Tues Stories of Success and Best Practices for Entrepreneurs. Please contact me if you are interested in participating. See this link for sponsorship opportunities: you can choose a specific session/talk to sponsor and this link for exhibitor information.
